Fellow Dirtbaggers (but mainly Ball Bashers), jeseterrRound 3: -7 Having just shot my first sub 60 this afternoon, I thought I'd be in good shape..... After a shaky start, -1 thru 10 and threatening to throw the whole thing out the window after 2 lipped putts and another couple of short misses, I went -6 thru the final 8 holes to pull something respectable out of the dirtbag. Good luck all. (I can offer no assistance Wutpa other than asking whether you have tried switching it off and on again...) Hope you get it sorted. Cheers all.

Three out of four rounds played, however, I have a big problem now. For whatever utterly confounding reason, I am suddenly unable to launch the game (on PC). I have tried everything I can think of (checked for updates, launched from system tray, from Steam library and from my installation folder, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I've logged in and out of Steam, I've restarted my PC four times....no luck. I click 'Play' and I get a spinning circle for 5 seconds, then it goes away and nothing more happens. I'm flummoxed. So at the moment (and for the last 24 hours) I cannot play my R4, although in the longer term I may not be able to play 2K23 any more either if I can't fix it. I greatly apologise if I am unable to complete this week's rounds, or even participate any further in Dirtbags. I'm at a loss, but perhaps it might be wise to see if an alternative player can be found Sorry if it ends this way for me, fellow Dirtbags. jeseterr Erk that's not good. Just a few random suggestions - check your antivirus isn't blocking anything (disable it and try loading the game) along with any VPNs, firewalls etc, make sure you're running Steam as an administrator (and maybe the game .exe file as well), try clearing the Steam cache (https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6AD7-820D-8BE5-E51F) or reinstall Steam entirely (disclaimer - you might lose data doing this, I can't be held responsible, don't kill me, etc). Also check your graphics card is working OK and maybe update the drivers/settings. Hope you get it sorted. Thanks for this. I had already cleared the Steam cache and I have pencilled in this weekend to pull out the GPU and check it, along with giving the whole box a bit of a clean up. I won't have time to do it before then unfortunately, but at this time my wobbly index finger of suspicion is pointing at the graphics card, in the absence of any more obvious ideas. I'll double-check the antivirus, but I don't run a VPN with the game and in any case Steam seems to run my other games just fine. It's only 2K23 that it seems to have an issue with. Most peculiar and a bit more than a tad frustrating. I'll report back, hopefully with less woe.

@wuptpa Nigel, I hope you get it figured out. Keep us posted. Cheers. Will do. Apologies for the disruption and complications that may ensue as a result of me dragging my PC outside and giving it a good kicking.

Round 3: -5
Going along nicely at -5 after 9 holes before a mediocre back 9 including a double bogey on the 17th (cliff side on the right? how about an inexplicable very slow?) put paid to any chance of a decent score.

Round 4: -7 No chance against a superior opponent but a slight improvement on the previous round - the specific improvement being not dunking the ball in the sea on the 17th (although I did manage it on the 3rd this time). I found the course quite challenging in a good way, and felt like I could have put some good scores together had I (insert specific club-related excuses here). Wishing the Dirtbags a great weekend jeseterr Round 4:

R3: -12 R4: -13 my most consistent play in a while, but some very dumb work late (hole 16 R3, hole 17 R4) to ruin special stuff. Let’s go squad! jeseterr

I have an equal chance in succeeding in either open heart surgery or fixing pc's, but seeing as you say your other games work just fine i'd take a peek at your anti-virus. Perhaps the av got a new update and suddenly sees that golf game as a threat? Perhaps disable it and see if game runs or list the game as an exclusion or something Wutpa

Wutpa download Wise Registry Cleaner (free) www.wisecleaner.com once installed run the program it will scan your pc for any registry errors, then select clean. Run it again to be sure it cleaned all files. . Next before trying to run the game, SAVE your player file so you do not lose fittings etc. This can be found in Your Documents Games PGA Tour 2k23 Common folder, just copy that file and place it somewhere safe in case you need to reinstall your player.I fear that since you already uninstalled you might have lost your player fittings etc. Next I would make an exception for the game in your virus program. Now Verify your files via steam. Right click on game in steam, select properties, then verify files. After that is done try starting your game. The Reg cleaner most likely may have fixed your problem. Also make sure all your drivers are updated . Let me know if this helps. Inflames-Carol (wife of Deathstar) Edit: Are you sure you have enough space on pc for the download?

I did try that this morning actually. Disabled the av, took a deep breath and tried to launch the game....then exhaled when nothing happened. Definitely a good thought though, and I appreciate the help.
