I've played the first 7 holes. What stands out is its very cramped and the fairways are narrow. Feels like a municipal course. The bunkers require work and variety of shape, a good brush to use is the soft brushes on page 4, the first 2 on the top row are very handy, The best thing to do is check out b101 video tutorials, the links are on here somewhere. I like your greens nicely sculpted, however the run offs in some places are a little to steep maybe flatten them out a bit. Same apples to yhe fairways but I think that's a result of you having them to close in parts. It's got the makings of a good course tho, lovely costal setting. Good luck in the competition mate BTW I'm not a ranger or anything, but I have made courses, one even got on tour in a previous version, someone like fargo can give uou much better feedback than me

Hey Brendan, I played your course this afternoon and have some thoughts from a designer and ranger perspective. This is a fair amount and intended as constructive analysis.Firstly, I assume you intend to add some more bunkers and needs trees, scrub, bushes etc. to enhance the environment and to use as sightlines and for framing. The little creek is neat but needs planting throughout to soften the look. I chose Pin 2 and this looks like it could be the toughest- try to balance all pin settings so they are all equal difficulty. -like the textures and colours you are using and the general idea for the course. - #1. 463 yds -too tight landing zone takes the driver away as an option on a mid length 4.I was given two pin choices - I know this is a shared green with 12 but check on this. - green is too active with red - bump behind pin 2- goes both ways- penal. - False front is severe. - pin is on a crest. #2. Too easy as a 600 yd style hole - blast away with little thought- needs something. #3. Green has too much artificial red sloping - not natural. #4 Fairway to the left is way too close- this happens on a few holes.Fairway is too narrow. #5. 268 yd par 4 is too easy- go for it all day- green sloping for pin 2 is way too penal - think risk/reward #6 Red on green is too severe. #7 The small landing spot left between the pot bunkers makes no sense - since you force the player right set a bunker on the front right of the green maybe. #8 256 yds is a tough par 3 to pull off - Can't see the green or the bunkers right- Pin 2 is brutal. - can't really roll it on because of the upward incline in front of the green. #9 Dogleg left going over the green of another hole is a no no unless you really tree in that green- dogleg is severe. The OB back right of the green is questionable and doesn't make alot of sense. #10 177yd par 3 has too much red left and right - you have very little useable green. #11 Bridge off the tee is too visible- move right perhaps? Cart path to the right of the fairway is way too wide 0(6-9ft max) - like the idea of this hole if completed with some obstacles. First little waterfall flows the wrong way. #12. 500 yd par 4 needs something- maybe a front green bunker.Like the look off the tee.The hump in the middle is a no for me and I had a slight yellow pin location. #14. The trees hugging the right are too tight to the fairway. It is a drivable 4 but the green is a weird sharp kidney shape. ythe red slope on the green is too sharp. #15 The bridge to the green is in the way of the player's eyeline. #16. Like the hole - contours well to feed ball in to a 490 yd tough shot- maybe a bunker for those who stray a bit right. #17. Love the deeper fairway pot bunker on the front right. #18. the raised hill off the tee makes the entire fairway blind to all the trouble.
Final thoughts- shows alot of work and thought and I can tell you know what to do. Greens have way too much red- watch B101's new tutorial - we can all learn from this when designing greens in 2K23.I think your pot bunkers are the way to go but deeper like on 17.Your fairways are too narrow and close together on some holes and flow more naturally on others. many of the pin locations I had sat on little crests breaking away on two sides - try to get rid of these micro-sculpts and have your greens flow naturally.Have all pin placements equal in difficulty. More planting needed all around but I know you are not done yet. You might want to consider a different green speed than 137.Choose between levels ( moderate is 134 and fast is 155 - 145 is a nice in between foe TGC schedulers. I really enjoyed the play and see the potential.Hope this was not too critical - just here to help.
