I don't know what struck into me today, but holy damn it felt good to play good again!
So considering the issues I was facing earlier on the week that prevented me from even starting my main tour on time (first time that ever happened but trusting that it won't happen again because it went back to working the next day), this was basically my main event for the week. Started off okay, could have been better... saved that for later in the week I guess?
-10 with 2 eagles in round 3 and wasn't too far off from doubling that eagle number for... I don't even know what kind of scoring that is because I'd be lucky to see one in a round! -4 in the front 9 didn't give me a whole lot to go off that this will be that good of a round but -6 back sure as heck helped, and it had an eagle on that tight 15th hole pin which I was just hitting and praying I get anywhere near to... only to land with a decent eagle putt.
-8 and first bogey free round in what feels like forever to wrap up a nice bow on this Christmas gift to go -30 this week and I might run away with a Christmas miracle of escaping the top flight demo zone. -5 through 6 holes should have probably been good to capitalize more on but hitting all but one green on time was pretty sneaky good! 30 putts is not good, but eh. But what can you do sometimes when you find yourself in these situations... how do you even find a flat spot there to land your ball in, or how do you even manage to save par from this when all there is downhill?
I'll gladly take this for the week, felt good to get through these rounds feeling like I might still have something good going on within me to compete up top... even though I might be delaying the inevitable drop down the flight but on current pace to last 1 more week than I gave myself credit for!
Cheers, good luck! And happy holidays, whichever one you celebrate! Stay safe.
