Dear TST enthusiasts,
For the Australia Open this week, I'm taking you to the wonderful Peninsula Kingswood. A true sand belt course with slippery greens and lots of nasty bunkers that aren't easy to miss for all 18 holes. You beasts can handle that though, especially because I instructed the greenskeeper to water the course in between rounds 2 and 3.
Have fun and good luck, Frans
PS IMPORTANT UPDATE TO FLIGHTS RULES: As of this week, anyone not finishing all four rounds will have their flight status revoked and it will only be restored after finishing all four rounds of a TST tournament.

Having played this course poorly 😉, a couple of times, I can say that Heisenberg's design is a very good reproduction of the actual course. It's a beautiful sandbelt course in Frankston, on the Mornington Peninsula about 30 minutes from Melbourne, Australia. It is ranked 16 in the top 100 courses in Australia at the moment. Not a long course. It really is all about what happens on and around the greens. Good luck to all TSTers. I think Art Art Vandelay picked a good week to be on holidays 🤣

I've been guilty of not finishing weeks lately just with being busy finishing up work before Christmas and being in and out of the game. Apologies if it caused hassle for pulling data.
This was one of my favourite courses in 21, was keen to see how the tricky greens translated to 23 and surprisingly I thought they played ok. Nice course this and I'd expect really low scores. I went -40.

Settled into the game over the last few weeks and started to enjoy it. Not pulling up any trees but settled into a nice reasonably crap at pixel golf groove. So thought it was about time I got back on the TST horse.
Pretty pleased with a steady, bogie free first round back of 4 under. I presume this is the gentle round and I'll soon be back on the 3 putt plus wagon!!
Looking forward to getting back into the flights when I've served my apprenticeship.

I understand wanting people to finish their rounds, but implementing this change the week before Christmas? Personally, I'm on a stretch that will see me work 25 out of 26 days (nights). While I'll probably binge play my rds, TST and TGCTours are the least of my concern at the moment.

Bubble hasn't burst yet. 2nd round of 5 under though the putting did leave a bit more to be desired at times. Always enjoy an Heisenberg course and he does these sandbelt RCR's so well. Glad to be back after giving up ungracefully in the pre-season. Remembering now how much I enjoyed TST.

Had my best round of True Sim (-11) in round one, and proceeded to forget how to hit out of the sand in round 2. Took me four strokes on one hole and three on another. Frustration and bad tempo ensued. Ended up with a +3 in round 2.
I went back to using splash lately exclusively in bunkers around the green and have gotten pretty good at it.
Back to the practice area, but I think I need a (video) sports psychologist lol.

3rd Round in the bag and the one thing I can say is thank god I've never had any issues with in this version is getting out of bunkers. The one shot I can perform admirably with very little angst. Spent that much time in the grit over the first 3 rounds I should have packed a bucket and spade into the golf bag (why no custom golf bags? Random thought). Anyhows a steady 4 under with just one 3 putt I think, just need a sensible Round 4 tomorrow and I'll be well happy with my return. How many qualifying weeks do you need to play to get a flight fransslabak ?

-4, -13, -7, -8 for -32
Some of these rounds are encouraging signs of a ship being steadied. I’ve been struggling mightily ever since the consumable balls patch. Not so much with putting alone but also, and especially, with jumpy/stuttering back swings. Started playing wired again and now switched to the usb openings in the back of the PS5. Seems to be more stable…
So, given that my game is slowly but surely coming together again, we’re probably in for a patch that significantly changes gameplay very soon… 😂😂😂

It's pissed me off so much I'm actually ditching the XB version after my last 2 society rounds. And I always play wired on both PC and XB. Rather disappointing that NextGen consoles seem to have issues where the PC version is as smooth as butter.

I have no words for what happened here. I'm sitting in 3rd place on PlayStation right now with a -36 total. It's not the result that is flabbergasting me...
It's the way I played it that is well... unique! I wasn't in a state where I was able to read greens! 😜 So... I didn't read any greens! Simple as that. I even got a name for this new style of playing; the green is lava! The less time you stay on the greens, the better it is!? Sounds like a shity plan, but it worked today!
Here are the rules if you wanna try this, I would recommend a try to all players that have good approach shots and are cucked by the putting on each holes:
First impression is the good one. It look straight but it's probably not? Then it straight. It lookslike it's breaking left to right? Then aim left somehwere, don't look again after if it's aimed correctly, the decision is already made! Any putts around 15f or less should be aimed in a reaction of the read from approach shots rolling on the green, not from reading the greens before your putt.
Here's a short clip, there's a span of 4 holes where I went -5, and 2 others putts at the end. There's all kinds of putts on that to give a good idea. For these 6 holes, I stayed on the greens 30 seconds, including the rolling of the ball! I mean, I take more time to analyse greens with a greend grid than what I did today!
Beginner's luck!? Can't wait to found out next week! 😂

I think it would help a lot of people to play True Sim this way.
