I have collected 98 skills so far and you apparently can only have a max of 100. I know I can group 3 of a color and exchange for 1 of the next higher color, but how many skills are there? I have a lot of low level grey and greens and am starting to trade them for higher level ones. Does anyone know how many different skills there are at each color level and for each of the 3 parts of the club?
Also, if I use some skills now, and later want to replace them with different ones, do I get to keep the now unused skills for future use or exchange or are they lost ?
Boy this stuff is so confusing! 2K21 was much simpler when it came to all of this.

There are fittings (sounds like you are discussing fittings, they have the color level system) and there are skills. I don't do the skills, but is there a color level system to them as well? |

Sorry, yes I am referring to fittings. I also have not used the skills system, it seems to me that only level 7 is worth having. Maybe when I reach 50XP I will buy my way there (currently in the 30s).

100 fittings max, but you can trade 'em for cash or exchange/upgrade 3 at a time. AFAIK, they stay available unless you do that. As for skills, note that all of column 7 skills are only active from the fairway, the place where most people's game is pretty solid. Don't discount the usefulness of a skill that widens your swing path after a couple of mishits, and shuts off when you play a bit better. Or even the 'momentum' ones, that engage on good play, giving you the sensation of 'getting hot'.
Art, the skills are colored, but it only indicates which club they are active with.

Are there 200 or more fittings? I plan to exchange all my grey and green fittings for higher levels, that should free-up at least 20-30 spaces.

In the orange tier alone, there's about 4,100 combos of just the numbers, then 18 different club/slots that it could be in. There's fewer as you go down as they don't have wider ranges, but it's just randomly generated, not like a set to collect. This assumes that they'll go back and fix them to what they were before the update. Do cash in the lower tier ones now to clear up space, but I'd hold off on trading at the higher tiers for now while the fittings are bugged or whatever they are. |

Thank you for the info. I can't believe we are supposed to collect these fittings like some kind of Easter egg hunt. AND now there is some kind of flaw in the system as well!!!  |

I deconstruct a lot of the lesser grey green and blue fittings I get in exchange for VC.
Or sometimes I group 3 of the same level together to create a new improved fitting (which will create you 2 extra spaces in your fittings cabinet, lol). Don't see point in hoarding fittings just for the sake of it. With I think 18 different clubs available to use to make up your bag of 14, you'd only ever need 54 fittings to have all clubs fitted up.
Not 100% certain on whether fittings remain in place if you swap out a club for a different brand (eg. Callaway PW changed to a Titleist PW) but I presume they do.

Quite frankly a 3 iron with a high lie range is a bonus for those long approach shots out of the rough, but that same lie range on a driver is a waste. |
