100%. For me golf is about spending time with others whacking a ball around. For me the social side has never been achieved properly on any golf game and I hope one day it will be. Simple and reliable to set up whatever game you like against whoever you like - friends or strangers - where it feels like you're all on the same course at the same time competing directly against each other. Get that part of the game right and I'll play the hell out of it.

Yup, it should be like poker lobbies but instead of buy in you select difficulty as your bet and then could also add VC as a stake.

You could have 2 balls head to head matches, 4 ball / foursomes or even a 16 man tourney where you play in allocated groups.

Would be fun

I found Links Golf shortly after my divorce in '98.  There were several awesome places to play that game (apcd courses, Jerry Garlish's place, etc) but the most fun I ever had whiling  away the hours was playing Links with others live with voice chat and realistic play (for the most part).  I met people and had dialogue with folks from all over the world.  Ya Can't Go Back...

Absolutely and taking a leaf out of Ghost Recon's book (a little), you could have settings that allow others to play at slightly different settings. You could create a match where say you allow Pro and above difficulty but no grids at all for instance so if someone wasn't quite at Master level they could play Pro - would come in handy too if Master only games were not attracting anyone perhaps.

It could be abused but then you'd know to a) not play that person again and b) not allow Pro in future. Just more options to tailor a good match against peeps.

Out of EAs book (edit: by EA I mean FIFA as this is not in their golf game unfortunately) - would love it to keep score against everyone you play or add notes about the opponents. So if for instance you played someone ages ago and lost and they came around again but you didn't recognise their name, you would however see that you played a match and currently 0-1-0 against them. Also you could see notes for them that you'd written to say "Good player using baby difficulty - avoid" perhaps or "Very good player, good game". Maybe even just a rate your opponent with stars like courses perhaps?

I’ve given up on the Ranked game mode. Guys making putts from miles away on every hole. Chipping in from impossible scenarios. Not sure where these players come from. But not once do I recognize any of their names from any society leaderboards I play in. And yes, 380 to 400 yard drives are a norm as well

Is there a hack in this game ? And if there is, are they using this hack on tgc tours ? Anyone notice how low the scoring is getting in CC play? Guys are shooting mid to low 50’s now on a constant basis. Seems really fishy to me

Ranked is Pro not Master. Any type of ball can be used.

CC scores, games been out 6 months now. People tend to get better.

I shot -65 this week simonlunge. Perfect storm of a legit controller which gives me consistency of tempo (a bit like PlayStation has had since day 1) plus I had a golden week with the putter. People know how to play this game. You'll get big scores on set ups like that one. And I've played 40 odd ranked matches, the good 3 clickers are a problem but apart from that I've enjoyed it. Some people are good!

Remember, that is only a -16.25 per round. So eagle the 3 par 5s and birdie 10 of the remaining 15 holes and you are done (or some variation of this). Easy peasy!

jeseterr I have completed round two in somewhat better fashion than the first. I even had a slim chance to make the cut until I doubled #17 due to three bad tempo shots in a row to give a -6 for the round. Hope my score helps the Sub-Parians!
