I had the full 15-20mph winds for each of my first 2 rounds, and for the first hole of round 3 before I exited. I battled for a 67 and 65 (I think) for a -8 through 2. In the unlikely chance that I make the cut, I hope the wind dies down a bit for rounds 3 and 4.
Also, regarding flights, I've made 1 out of 5 cuts thus far on Web-A so I'd probably welcome being moved down to B. If I miss the cut this week then that would be 3 in a row, so maybe I will request it. There's no way I could hang with the PGA/Euro players with how I shoot now, so being in A really doesn't matter since the A/B/C flights all play the same course.

I had moderate winds throughout, nothing less than 5 and nothing more than 12-13 so it wasn't too bad. A couple tough holes on this very long course out at Pinehurst. Having gone to the US Open this year i can say that they definitely gave us a break on those greens haha and I tried to take full advantage of the long putts. First round 61, couple of missed opportunities but a couple bogies killed me. Second round 59 had me feeling good going into the weekend knowing i'd be high on on that leaderboard. I played the following two round the next day in a little bit more winds and it showed on my score shooting a 61 based on a couple of lucky chip ins. Final round 62 left me disappointed with the finish, but ill take a -37 finish there after really stinking up the place last week finishing bottom 20's. Hopefully next week i continue to bring my A game, although I do not like that course at all.

Hadn't heard anything about changes for the winds, what are the cahnges proposed ? I played practice rounds with winds up to about 10 mph, then I actually play the other night and crazy winds mostly above 15 mph. Pretty much ruined any chance I had of making the cut. Who in there right mind wants to play in winds this high ?

I don't mind playing in winds this high, most links courses have winds in this region. I don't however like playing in them whilst others have lower winds. The update means same winds across the board for everyone.

I agree, there are some very laggy holes on this course. Some greens read a lot of break and the ball doesn't move and vice versa, which I assume is because of a bad data read, but however, something's definitely awry on some holes. Also, wind speeds make a HUGE difference. I hope the patch is out tomorrow so the tournaments will have their fixed wind speeds per round so we can have a level playing field. I feel a little guilty being a lucky one with 1-8mph winds over my four rounds. 61, 62, 61, 63. Wouldn't have touched those numbers in 12-15+

Hi,I have missed the cut.Do I have to complete the last 2 rounds? Am short of time this week, but will try finish the rounds if it's required. If you've missed the cut then you don't have to play your last 2 rounds. It's happened to me a few times so I know how it works I was away at the weekend so I've just been putting in some practice rounds in the last couple of days. I've been really struggling, -3 my best. The length of the course and pin placements seem to be my biggest issue. I keep playing the 500+ par 4 near the end thinking it's a par 4., I manage to get on the green and think I have a eagle putt. Oh no, it's a birdie putt!!!! Then last night winds were very low, I didn't think I was ever going to play well and I couldn't decide to go for it or not. I decided to do another practice round. I only went on to make a 62 which would have put me well up the leader board! Now let's see what happens when I play my rounds tonight for real! I've only really had lagging on my first shot on the 5th, I can cope with that.

Good luck for the tournament.

Its so unfair at the moment.

I shot 63,62,64 with 6-10 mph winds and 61 in the final round with 1-6 mph. This was my first tournament and I'm happy with -30. So with the patch the winds can be regulated on all platforms?

I shot a 65 and a 68 in 10-16mph winds. After a practice round of 62 this was really disappointing. It was impossible to reach the 500+ yard par 4 (16th?). I missed a good number of sub 8 foot putts and my wife twice spoke to me when doing my back swing! Another cut missed, my career has started to go backwards.

I wasn't sure if i missed the cut or not, guessing i probably did, so cracked on with rounds 3 and 4 anyway. Had pretty shocking wind for all rounds which i wouldn't mind if everyone was have the same wind but the update will sort that. So my 3rd round wasn't that good, -3 or something i think, but my 4th was a 59 and should have been a 57 after dropping a shot at each of the last two hols. I even managed to hole out from about 160 yards on one hol. Lowest round ever and unlikely to repeat, especially in that wind.

i went 63 & 59 with ~8-10mph winds, but 15-20mph is just ridiculous. Had that for my last 2 rounds and went 66 & 69. Didn't reach one par 5 in two because the wind was in my face every single time. Never been top 10 but i probably would have had a chance of winning if the winds didn't screw me over. Whoever wins will have played in less than 10mph winds for all 4 rounds, that's my guess. Wow! I had almost the exact same scores as you in the exact same winds. Instead of a 66 in round 3 though, I shot 67! I was quite disappointed with my poor last two rounds though.

It is not always better with less wind - I had 2 rounds in app. 10-15 mph's wind where I shot 59 & 61, and two rounds in app. 6-10 mph where I did 70 & 69 (made the cut for the first time so that was fun). The difference in wind direction gave me some difficulties in the lower wind rounds whereas everything fitted my game in the higher winds - also I did not play quite as well in rounds 2 & 4. Like some others here I enjoy when there is some wind and I think it is fine when winds are not alike for all. While I fully understand and accept the arguments for giving all more even conditions, to me golf is a game where conditions constantly change, which in real tournaments is a contributing factor to why you see also top players missing cuts, while some lesser ranked players have a go at the top. I think it would even be fun with settings where wheather condition changed during the round like starting out with wind and rain and finishing the round in quiet sunny weather . No matter which conditions we play under, I truely enjoy playing with you all. It's always fun whether I make the cut or struggle at the bottom.
