Bluebonnet Country GC is now available. As a short 18-hole, par-72 course located near Plantersville, Texas (between Houston and College Station), Bluebonnet was originally constructed in 1973 by Jay Riviere. After Rick Forester completed a redesign in 1983, the course was labeled as "one of the greatest second shot courses in the country" by Jay Hebert, a member of the 1971 Ryder Cup team. For PGA Tour 2k23, I have recreated the course primarily from memory, as it has been closed since 2012, with help from a few online pictures, 2011 satellite imagery, and personal pictures taken onsite (or what is left of it) in 2022. Originally featuring 4 pin positions and 3 sets of tees, I have added a 4th tee (Black @ 6840 yards) to enhance the course's appeal in online play. Your early morning round in a light fog includes an accurate recreation of its narrow fairways, small undulating greens, and deep bunkers. This is just my second course ever published (Dragon's Birth was my first), so I'm hoping to take some RCR lessons learned here and move on to the next. Hope everyone enjoys Bluebonnet Country GC. P.S. Not really looking for feedback such as "greens are too small" as this is an RCR and "it is what it is", so to speak. However, general feedback is greatly appreciated, keeping in mind this is just my second course.
