I haven't had any of the issues you've been having with having to replay holes. I hate it when that happens even if it goes in your favour. I did much better on the 7th hole in Rd 3, only a triple bogey this time in a +10 round. I was playing much better in Rd 4 until 15 when I took a 9. I managed to eagle the 18th for a +4. Total score for the tournament was +15, as always, I'm just happy to have made the cut.

Ended up tied for 7th. Would have been tied for 10th had my original score posted properly, so top 10 either way.
Played rounds 1 and 2 of the new week with a break in between and I picked up right where I left off, so hopefully that continues. -2 and -1 for my first two rounds. Not a particularly tough course but I made a couple of mistakes that took some time to recover from. I’m still usually going to be happy with anything under par.

Another -2 in round 3. Got under par early in the round and then just stayed there. Very satisfied that my scores have been fairly consistent and a shot or two under par. Nothing fancy but it feels like genuine improvement.

I'm so freaking livid right now, I can't see straight. -1 going into the par-13 17th and I hit a perfect tee shot. It bounces just short of the green and tracks right to the hole. Slowly rolling, about a foot out and...game crash. Reload the game and of course it puts me back on the tee and my tee shot sails left.

-3 to close out my week at -8. Looks like my fourth round score is locked in on the site, so finally a week where everything registers correctly the first time.

I’m still at the point where I’m just looking to two putt every hole. I’m not expecting to sink anything over 15 ft. but am happy if I leave myself an easy hopefully par. My game will probably make its next big improvement when I either start really focusing on my putting or in making better approach shots so I don’t have to be a better putter.
Started this week with a -2 in round 1 and a +1 in round two. Looks like that’ll comfortably make the cut so I played round 3 today. Posted a bogey free -6. I’m happier about the bogey free part of that than I am the -6 but I’ll take both.

The L tour has the fewest number of entries this week. I'm sure we will get some new people after the qualifier. I like the fact that as long as you get within a few strokes of par you will make almost all the cuts. It makes this Tour fun for casual players like me who just plays a few rounds a week.

I agree with your comments parbuster. It's fun knowing that you don't have to shoot really low scores to make the cut like all the other tours. Most weeks just avoiding disaster and having fairly average rounds will give you a good chance. I had not played masters clubs for about a month, so I wasn't expecting much from the first tournament. However, I did better than I thought I would and shot rounds of + 1 and + 3 to make the cut.

I’ve certainly been enjoying my stay in CC-L. As long as you’re playing basic, fundamentally sound golf you’re probably going to do fine. Mistakes can be recovered from, a bogey isn’t the end of the world. There’s usually one or two outlying scores at the top of the leaderboard, but for the most part after that there’s some solid competition with scores that are very achievable for anyone capable of posting 4 consistent under par rounds, or one or two really good rounds.
It’s been easy to chart my progress during my stint here as well. After getting my card I had three straight weeks with two demotion marks and I was back in Q-school. Came back a week later and have stayed here ever since. Had a few weeks where I was back and forth on the line of no strikes or one strike, making a cut here and there to keep me at no more than two accumulated demotion marks. Then it was a few weeks of always ending up within a stroke or two of the cut line. Now the last few weeks I’ve been comfortably making the cut and battling around the top 25 or so. Not in danger of winning an event anytime soon but I’m starting to gain confidence that I could make it to being in regular contention for a top 10 finish.

I have had a fairly similar experience to you Boffo. I am starting to make cuts more regularly now and I'm in with another good chance this week. I shot a + 2 in Rd 1 at Asilomar sitting just one behind you on the leaderboard.

My first two rounds this week have felt like I’ve been fighting against the game instead of the course. Round 1 I had no consistency whatsoever as one shot was fast, then the next slow, then fast again and so on. I’ll never understand how my shots can vary so wildly when I’ve been playing long enough that my flick speed should just be muscle memory at this point and while I’m not expecting perfect shots I should at least get mostly consistent ones.
Round 2 I was consistently hitting slow with slight left to right break in every shot and had adjusted accordingly for it. -4 after 14 holes showed how much better my game can be if I get the expected consistency. Holes 17 and 18 were both slow tee shots but each went insanely further right than any other shots I’d hit all round and ended up OB each time. Good round gone on just two shots and I finished the round +2.
Fortunately it’s CC-L so even though the game itself has done nothing but annoy me this week it seems like my score will still be good enough to make the cut.

Tournament 2 is on a beast. Wait until you play the 2nd round with high winds and firmer conditions.
With 50 entries it looks like we might have a record high cut line. I am estimating +12 will be enough to make the cut.
I am a very average player and the key is to play basic golf. I have very high percentages in Fairways and GIR because I just play for the widest pats of the fairway and centre of greens. This conservative style means I am always around par or a bit better. No ugly holes.
You’ll notice my putting stats are among the worst every tournament mostly because I have long putts after hitting the middle of the greens.
I tend to choke in 4th round because I start playing aggressive in an attempt to catch the leaders. Dumb golf!

That’s basically the same way I play, aside from pushing in round 4. Play for par and take advantage of the scoring chances when they present themselves. When you do that, combined with the forgiving courses we’re usually playing on it makes it hard to have a really bad round. And in CC-L avoiding a bad round is going to be enough to make most cuts.

Played round 3 since I’m comfortably under the cut line. Just fast played because the game is annoying me this week. Ended up +2 with 6 pars, 6 birdies, 4 bogeys, and 2 double bogeys. It was an adventure to say the list. Super fast greens again had my putting all messed up. Satisfied with the score but not the way I got there.
