I'm starting off this season quite well! Round 1 wasn't all that great but could take it, shot -8. Maybe some jitters? Was kinda hot and cold, started off a little slow, then for 6 holes I couldn't stop scoring. Then slowed down again, and finished on 2 birdies, one being putted in from the fringe. Something I haven't done much but was working... surprisingly well? Couldn't have asked for a better round 2. -13, was killing it from hole 2 to 13, then momentum died off only for me to go from heavy rough on 18 to smacking the ball to 3 feet for an eagle. Putter was firing well, got another putt to drop from the fringe early on in the round which might have given some momentum for that. Hopefully I can continue this well for the final 2 rounds, would be quite the nice start to have if I keep this up! Cheers, and good luck if you've got rounds left.  |

Well after a pretty average q school n lack of form last few weeks. I debated whether I'd even play the tour. I sat in a party chat with bout 8 blokes n said ill just do play n see what happens. To my delight I shot lights out n could Put a foot wrong. Found my confidence n love for the game. Received an email next day from Doyle n me going oh no surely not an api fail for them lines. It was him saying im going straight to elite next week n should the promo to back in platinum with my previous record I should be their. Made my day that. Good luck to all this week n see u on elite next week fellas Congrats bro, I’m starting to really love the game myself. I started late so I was a little behind on getting all the good fittings which really make a difference. Good luck on elite, Hope to see you up on one of those tours soon |

Heh, I knew it was going to be a challenge to do well in the first event. Out of town until late last night, got home (3 hour time change too, so it was effectively starting at 1am), did a tiny bit of warm up and played R1 & R2. Would have made the cut most likely, but my youngest (9 month) kitten decided to demand affection the last 5 holes. Bogeyed two of those to finish -12 at the cut and it looks like I'm going to miss by 1. D'oh. Oh well, no demo marks for that and I've only got 1 more trip in the next few months, so will be able to play on a more regular schedule.
All that being said, really enjoyed the course. I'll play R3 & R4 in the next couple of days and see if I can't get my game back in order...

Opening round season jitters out of the way.
Didn't play my best but -20 at the cut puts me in good position for a promo going into the weekend.
Only duffed in the bunker once 😅

Well that start was too good to be true, eh? Scores barely matter to me, currently in the hospital as of this morning thanks to sharp pains in the abdomen. Was planning to do later today but no guarantee that I could get to play later, so fought through the pain to the finish so that I won't get demos. Let's see if I get to play next week, or if I gotta wait a bit for the next one. Cheers, good luck! |
