Couple of days of leaderboard watching in my immediate future. Top 325 to make Kinetic, currently in T274 with a lot of players still to finish. 50/50 at best. The good thing is that final round 62 has put me in a good spot on the the tiebreak. And to be fair I was targeting a minimum of CCB where I spent last season, so I've achieved that.
If I don't make Kinetic those 3 shots to get out of the greenside bunker on the 3rd hole in round 2 is the reason. Wish I could play that hole again.
Currently 3 Xbox players headed to the Rocher, 10-12 headed for Elite, 20-25 headed for Kinetic. I can't remember the split in 2K21 but pretty sure that's much healthier. And I do take the point that a lot of our better players have jumped ship since 2K21. Promising...

Hopefully, the better perfect chance on XB, coupled with the increased swing plane difficulty on PS will go some way to neutralising the fact that PS have the ability to hit a less penal first draft grey fast/slow. It's a start Jamie!

It's a start Jamie! I don't want say I am saying it for everyone on Xbox but I feel on the series X I have no issues with tempo. I am probably getting 65-70% perfects and I feel the bad ones for sure. Its up to decision making and course management and holing putts.

Good to hear While I know 65-70% is surely an approximation, honestly, I don't get anywhere near than many perfects on PS5. If it's as high as 25% on full swings I'll be surprised (actually, I'll check a recent stream). Now I'm not a top player, but I'm no slouch, so if there's a noticeable alteration to perfect likelihood using XB controllers (assuming good input), then that might well diminish the advantage that the granularity of polling points has provided to DS users over the years. Interesting!

Interesting! The driver for me is a lot of perfects more so than the irons. Chips forget about it. Lol! The line combined with tempo IMO is about as good as it gets as far as toughness goes for me. Still a stickler for the wimpy default ball.

Demonondalinks Q @keg - R3 I had what felt like one of my best ball striking rounds in any TGCT event (whether that's statistically true is not able to be proven). Quickly watching back I found that on full swings (Full shots, pitches and flops) my misses were reasonably consistent, with no significant bias: - 31 shots
- 10 perfect
- 11 fast
- 10 slow
Slightly better than I guessed, but not far off. If you're getting even close to double that then that's a very positive sign.

So, I read everyone complaining about how much more difficult Xbox is and I can tell you it's absolutely true, at least in my experience with the Xbox controller. I have been really struggling in this game compared to the last games and a few months ago I switched to an Xbox Elite controller and that's what I started playing this game with. Well, last night I decided to switch back to my Dualshock 4 controller that I used in the previous games and it's waaaaaaaaaaay easier. I can actually get decent timing versus with the elite controller it was a mess. I'm on PC.

Interesting. I am on PC using an Xbox elite controller. I've always had a lot of timing and tempo issues that I couldn't figure out why everyone else is better, no matter what I try to practice or do.
Being that we don't have a lot, the elite controller (special edition ocean version) was a gift and I really like it. In fact, it was a gift specifically because my other older controller I had at that time would not pass the test for this website. So I've always been happy with using it, and am reluctant to go spend anything to replace it.
Wonder if its time to ask for a PS DS5 this Christmas., LOL.

Q school completed. Xbox platform. Rhythm archetype. Fittings all on (last three rounds). No magic ball used.
R1: -2 R2: -1 R3: -2 R4: -5
Total: -10
Obviously nothing to write home about but I was significantly under par, without use of a magic ball and that felt rewarding. I loved every second of it as well as the challenge and official feel that TGC Tours has always provided.
Swing felt correct. For the most part, I didn't feel much randomness, save for probably three or four swings per round. Shot feedback turned OFF as every swing on Xbox is a coin flip so best I not see the crazy every time!
Putting as well as pitching/chipping is quite unrealistic and manufactured difficulty without a magic ball and I'll absolutely be using them when placed in CC (won't even make cuts otherwise). Laughed at the hundreds and hundreds of people at 100% medium putts and 40+% on long putts, then I remembered why. It's arcade all the way. Not TGCT fault for working with what has been handed to them.
TGC Tours is and will always be a great place to play.

bergs JosiaDB - Dualshock and Dualsense all have much higher polling frequency than XB controllers. 800mhz wireless and 250mhz wired. XB are 250mhz, but for some battery saving reason, they then only poll at half that so 125hmz. It's the reason Xbox has bigger tempo gaps and can hit less polling points, and why HB / 2k have such a hard time trying to accommodate for it. If you use those controllers on PC - same issue as XB. HOWEVER: Don't expect a magic wand... This game things are different re how easy it is to attain perfect tempo on XB (and one assumes PC). PS has it's own advantages re swing granularity timing... It's less of a gap than the last game it seems is all I'll hang my hat on for mow.

I'll be sticking with the default ball. Don't forget a long putt is 11 feet and further. You give me that as birdie putt in real golf and I'd consider it a short putt.

Qualifying complete and did better than I thought I would…just can’t quite figure this new game out and have only played about 5 times. -7 overall with a couple quad bogeys and several 3-4 putt bogey/doubles. Just no consistency yet. Oh well CC-Z here I come

Another thing I didn't think to try before switching controllers is the analog stick adjustments on the Elite Controller. I never thought of that till now but I had the analog sticks tightened down with that goofy-looking tool that comes with the elite controllers. Maybe loosening the analog sticks all the way would have also helped, but probably not, it may be worth a try messing around with that if you don't want to buy something else.

I felt pretty good after the first two rounds, just got in round three and am sweating it now. Did worse on round three than I did on both the previous rounds combined, I think!
Nothing felt right, one of those frustrating nights where everything seemed to go wrong, or miss, but just barely. Hoping for the best tomorrow!
I was the same - R4 is definitely more like R1 (at least for me). Good luck!
