Just played rds 2 n 3. A bit of a struggle rd 2. One bad swipe caused me a double bogey. Shot -3. Felt ok as I didn't have a late rd collapse. Took a break to clean bathroom, made a cup O' tea and proceeded to shoot -7 in rd 3. -12 overall and very satisfied. My goal was -15 so I may get there. I've been using default ball and rhythm archetype and have not used any skills at all and I really enjoy the challenge it presents. I am not gonna shatter leaderboards with this approach but I am fine with that. Off to rd 4 I go. Make sure you cut the grass and tidy the kitchen before you do R4 and you'll knock it out of the park! Lol! I eagled hole 1 and then forgot how to putt. I fought hard to not completely fall off the rails in rd 4. Finished +1 rd 4 and -11 overall. I'll be somewhere in lower CC ranks. I can deal with it. Good luck to all this season and congrats to those with fantastic scores. Edit: May not make CC as I looked at LB and I was well below cut line to make tour card rd 2. 650 above cut seemed kind of low to me. So hopefully I am wrong.

Anyone have a good guess where the scores will land us?
I'm just guessing but looking at the scoring so far I'd say:
Looks like top 50 and pro tours is around -44 next 130 or so and elite is around -32 Next 130 or so and Kinetic around -24 Next 130 or so and CC-A around -20 CC-B: -14 CC-C: -10 CC-D: -6 CC-E: -2 CC-F: +2 CC-G: +6 CC-H: +10 CC-I: +18 CC-J: +26 CC-K: +40 CC-L: +60 (?)
Great job with the course! Really wide scoring disparity which I think makes for well defined flights moving forward.
Based on my quick, dumb, unreliable, math my -17 may get me to either CC-B or even CC-A which is well above where I've ever been so I'm excited for the new season!

It’s ok to use a legendary ball and fittings lol. I don’t understand the people that refuse it lol.

Fair rough estimates to be sure at this point with what we know right now.
The scoring over the next two rounds may not quite resemble the first two due to conditions, etc, and then there are those who have yet to play, some players are having issues getting there scores to show up, and then there are those that have scores only through 1 round on the board that will improve or fall depending on over/under par scoring. Then there are those who will have scores on the board who do not finish all four rounds and will subtract from the field.
Small tweaks you might want to make is that on the Pro Tours:
-Platinum is set to be 45 players out of the gate -Elite and Kinetic are set to be 140 players out of the gate
Then for CC:
-CC tours are flexible, and we do not know if there will be a floor on scores or not
Using your data, seeing the tighter disparity of roughly 4 shots top to bottom for several tours will make those quite competitive tours and the best "sweet spot" tours to be on if you crave competitiveness. How the outlier Platinum, Elite, and lower end CC shakes out is going to be interesting.

Anyone know the course for the The Blue Moon Championship next week... Trying to get ready after a bad week 1 and do not think I am getting a card If your R3 and R4 are similar, you will almost surely get a Tour Card. Might be better to work on the CC course. Good luck!

A little embarrassing to post my Q-School progress with all the -40's being talked about, but I haven't played video game golf in over a decade, so to even be able to play semi-respectable on Master with minimal practice feels like a win to me. +5 Round 1. -1 through 16 in round 2. I was sweating and my palms were sticky. Completely fell apart and bogeyed 17 and tripled 18 for +3 on Round 2. +8 through two rounds. That 18th hole meltdown is going to haunt me. Looking forward to playing my last two rounds on Thursday night, and hopefully I can take a couple strokes off and finish around +12 and sneak into a CC flight somewhere! Side note: Loving the community, the challenge, and the competitiveness that TGCT is bringing to me. MyCareer is ok, but I never once had sweaty palms that led to a meltdown on MyCareer mode! Thanks for all of you behind the scenes for what you do for this league! This right here is what I created this community almost 9 years ago. LOVE THIS! Thanks Tim! Competing in the TGCT Q-School is reminding me of a one day member/guest tourney I was playing in last month. I was playing the round of my life by far. I was -2 through 12 holes. I started really thinking about my score (am I the new Tiger Woods!?? ) and completely got in my head. It wasn't a monumental collapse, but I did go +6 on the final 6 holes to finish +4 on the day. Still took first in our flight, but the yips from the jitters came flying at me from the mental stress I was putting myself under. I am having a very similar experience this week. Every shot feels like it could be a make it or break it get a tour card, and in my opinion, it mimics the feeling of IRL competitive golf, wayyyyyyy more than MyCareer does. Thanks again for all you do! I am looking forward to hopefully placing in a CC flight and grinding over the season to work my way up!

Best to ignore your score until the end of the round I find. It's difficult in this game though because it's always there. I have done it sporadically in real golf but gave it another go on Sunday on the advice of my coach, and I actually found the round a lot more relaxed than if I keep track of my score. Ended up shooting my equal pb off the stick and won the competition 😁 might just do it every round from now on I think.

I should have tried harder on the last round. When the game repeats the same thing, like a slow swing on the same hole as the previous round to the hazard, I lose interest very quickly. I think I was at -11 after 2 rounds and then -13? after 4 rounds.

This mindset is alien to me. 🤷 Maybe stay interested and try to make some better swings?

I can feel when I swing slow, fast, perfect (ON XBOX) and I’ve noticed I make the same mistakes on certain holes. I’m right handed… Water on the left (slow), wind against me and need some power here (fast). It’s a sim golf game, especially TGC tours settings. If you want arcade, TGC is not the answer and that’s fine. Make the settings as easy as possible and find some friends that want to play similar settings. Golf is not easy! Lol

Drives me nuts when I keep always swing too fast because I want to avoid water

Well… R1(-7) R2(-7) R3(-4) R4(-5) I’m on xbox and used the legendary friction ball with various fittings. I left a few shots out there but overall not beating myself up. Can’t wait to see where this lands me and I have no idea lol. Good Luck all!

Have you seen the leaderboards? Is everyone using the "tools" available in the game? Magic balls, unrealistic fittings and skills? And what about all the aids that TGCTours plays with? Green grids, follow/scout cam, shot shaper, aiming marker, etc etc. None of that is realistic. And you think TGCTours isn't arcade. LOL.

I understand it’s not the most difficult… Every game has arcade aspects. You’re welcome to make it as difficult as possible to fit your needs if you don’t like TGCT. I have no problem with TGCTours using the "tools" and settings provided. But I don't think it's accurate to imply that it's not arcade-ish while using all these aids/"tools". I'll be along eventually and take my place in the lower levels of the alphabet soup society. Although this year I was considering playing all society rounds gridless, which very well could mean I won't be able to get a card. But that's ok. I'll just play alongside the various societies and TST and probably even play alongside the Beer League (really needs a better name) because as an old Links player, I enjoy 3-click. Cheers. 🙂
