When you build your course do you build all your holes and then go back and plant your details like trees/grass/bushes or do you fully plant and complete a hole before the next?

I do layout, sculpting, buildings, paths, trees, bushes, grass in that order
Have considered doing one hole at a time though

I put down placeholder planting as I'm sculpting the hole, helps me visualise what the hole will look like, sightlines etc. Sometimes just massive bushes to block off an area or create shadows, sometimes copy-paste wooded areas which I may end up keeping.
Then when the hole and (adjacent holes) are sculpted I'll go back and plant it properly. Normally I'll have started fully planting some holes before I've completed sculpting the course.

Ive done trees while building each hole so that I can see sight lines and where shadows fall, etc. but then waited to do any brush / grass planting until done with all the holes.
I feel like sometimes I get into a zone planting and kinda lock down a style or pattern for the planting.
If I have to come back to it several times over a longer period of time I find that the planting looks disjointed and like it was done slightly differently in some places, if that makes sense.
Knocking it out at the end in just 2-3 sessions over 2-3 days has it looking more consistent - but thats just me.

I Sculpt, then i look for my layout based on the land then measure, but one hole at a time, with basic planting, and then just go from there.

Do you have any computer generated trees, or do you sculpt and plant everything? I'm just finishing up my first/learning course. I found that I generated 100% trees, but just cleared them out from where my hole was going to be. More for background and such.

More for background and such. sometimes. usually with delta themed and desert courses ill clear them out, because i dont like the tropical trees but foresty courses ill leave them and carve through |
