All controls lost

My first ever round with 2k23, q-school TPC Boston.

Hole 18, first shot went to sand and then no controls except help-button.
Game was still running with live picture and sound, just no controls, had to restart,
continued perfectly from second shot.

I have Xbox one controller and steam/pc.

I regularly get freezes on PC. I just end the game it usually (not always) resumes as if it never happened (sometimes I have to reshoot the shot it froze on).

This is happening several times a round. Typically after a particularly poorly timed shot.
