From what I’m reading I guess I’m the only one who feels this way and that’s fine. But switching to a legendary setting just seems like I’ll never be able to play on these tours again. Don’t get me wrong, I was never very good at the game. Like getting -30 to -35 for tournament when the winners are -50. When I play on legend swing now, regardless of whether I have rhythm or powerhouse, I will shoot between -5 and +5 per round. So for a good tournament I might now shoot single digits under par for 4 rounds.
It’s definitely fun playing with such a challenge, but I’m afraid -8 for a tournament is going to put me down to like a CC-Z. There’s still going to be guys that are shooting -14 a round and I’ll be dragging along struggling to make pars. I know the easy response to this is “get good scrub”. And maybe that’s true, I’m just bad at the game. But I liked being competitive and trying to promote and avoid relegation without wanting to throw my controller because of a random 50 yard drive since the game decided I went as “very fast” as possible without feeling like I did anything different (I’m on Xbox btw).
“So play in beer league then”. *Happy Gilmore voice* Oh good you mean no fun?
I’ll still play regardless, but skewing the playing field by forcing everyone to play legend just doesn’t seem fun to me.
Cheers all! Still enjoying the new game.

How are we addressing the consumable ball issues as it relates to TGCTOURS?

And I'll be very surprised if they end up going with anything above Master settings in season 1, outside of the top tiers.

How are we addressing the consumable ball issues as it relates to TGCTOURS? Below is just my opinion.
1) Hope 2K patches it to be able (as an option) to lockout all but the default ball (not holding my breath) 2) Hope that ball type is in the API data that TGCT gets, and they can code it so that only scores using the default ball are accepted 3) We all just end up having the option to use them

After playing this game for a few days now.
I started reading through a lot of forums and posts.
Then it dawned on me.
Gameplay, graphics, equipment, what levels etc etc blah blah blah. In all honesty. Take away TGC Tours and I wouldn’t be playing any golf games over the last four years.
Thanks Doyley and your team. You should get something from the sales imo. Because I’m sure they are selling thousands more copies because of The Tours.

I don't like the idea of locking ball types, it's like going to the local Saturday club competition and having everyone forced to use the same ball. If they'd just remove the idiotic green speed changing aspect of them it'd be fine.

The sleeves aren't going away. I mean, elements of them do make for a bit of something different, but how they can exclude certain elements of them and allow others, I'm not sure. Maybe give societies the chance to exclude them totally, or maybe allow uncommons or something...

People playing different course conditions is even worse than everyone playing the same ball, it's only certain balls that mess with course condition isn't it?. Slowing greens down makes courses play much easier, it is stupid it then takes all the difficulty away from tough firm fast greens. The triggered skills are silly also but at least you can just pick the always active ones on the final row.

I don't think there are that many on here playing TGCT.... even if so, that amounts to what will be less than 1% of total sales.

My point is that HB or whoever should patch it to remove the roll differences and probably the bounce too, not having societies somehow allow different aspects and not others. A higher spinning ball will roll out less anyway.

That's what I mean, patch it so that the only real differences are spin and flight like real balls, maybe distance to a small degree as well, not having them make the greens more or less firm/slower and quicker.

But I’m basically saying these golf games are pretty much the same. It’s the Tour that keeps me purchasing.

Wouldn’t it be possible for HB to lock the Pros only in the game to be used in competitive societies. To my knowledge they can’t use fittings, ball sleeves or any power-ups so surely that’s the fairest way to play.

A higher spinning ball will roll out less anyway. Completely agree. Just for fun, I ventured into the official society and (not surprisingly) all the top scores were -22. In other words, play perfectly (with the help of your favorite ball) and hope for a hole-in-one to stand out from the pack. I understand 2K wanting to expand the audience, but something has to give there. Also, setting career mode conditions to very hard with the default ball is nearly unplayable on some holes. On many occasions, I was forced to make a 30-footer or have the ball roll back to my feet. One shouldn't need to engage a consumable perk just to play a course with tough conditions.
