Feedback was a little limited for Week 18, so I'm leaving that one open for additional feedback on Atherstone Dunes and Jasper Peak as a future Alpine venue. Please feel free to leave feedback here for the Week 19 venue, Soggy Bottom. See below for the weekly disclaimer and this week's course voting.
Disclaimer: Keep in mind that selections are made well in advance, so most venues are already chosen for the next 3-6 weeks. Also keep in mind that feedback such as "I didn't like it" or "it was great" doesn't help much either. Feedback on the topics below are the types of things that can really help me:
- Difficulty (Too easy/Too hard)
- Greens (Too sloped/Too Easy) (Too firm/Too soft)
-Fairways/Length (Too narrow/Too Wide) (Too Long/Too Short)
- Theme Selection
- Course Appearance
- General feedback on what appeals to you and what doesn't
Future Course Voting
So we have an event coming up in HB-land at the end of June, otherwise known as Nova Scotia. My preference is to use a Links course here, both for regional accuracy and for a change of pace from the Boreal and Countryside. I have my sights set on two courses recently released, Rye Bay Harbour and San Monique. I have yet to play either course, but I hope to do so soon. If you are interested in providing feedback, please give these two a try and vote in the poll. If you have a different course in mind that is either Links theme or very Links-esque in appearance, please provide your write-in candidate.

Will try to play them and let you know what I think. Thanks for allowing us to have a hand in the selection process!

Lunenburg National would be an great course for the Nova Scotia open. Location-wise anyways it matches up.
I don't want to go against your Links course idea, but its more of a 70/30 mix of regular/links courses here. Up north in Cape Breton they have a ton of links courses, but most of the courses on the mainland are your typical non-links-ish course. Ashburn is a course outside of Halifax and plays more like a Rural/Boreal course in The Golf Club. (http://www.ashburngolfclub.com/index.cfm?ID=109)

Not that there is any rule against using a course twice on different tours, but I'd like to showcase as many courses and designers as possible. You also got me on the Ashburn course, totally forgot to check that one out. With that said, my heart is still kind of set on a Links course for the change of pace. This week's course plus the last 3 have all been Countryside or Boreal, and 4 of the next 6 going forward will also be one of those 2 themes, so I think the change is needed. Great feedback, though, keep it coming!

Thats cool, I didn't realize it was used already and there are a ton of courses to select from so yea, grab something new for now. You're not wrong for links courses I was just thinking to match Ashburn, but the change of pace makes sense.

I like the look and feel of Soggy Bottom but the fairways are just too narrow imo. 10-12mph winds really change the complexity and with so much heavy rough close to the fairway, I slight errant shot is a major penalty. On a tour where most pars feel like bogies, the narrow fairways can wreak havoc. Away from the tour, I like the course and play it with friends a lot. It's a nice challenge for avg players. Unfortunately, the narrow fairways in wind can be a little unfair to the avg player trying to make a cut and knowing low 60s scores will be a must.

I'm extremely sorry to have to say this...
I just played Rye Bay Harbour. It's a very cool course, and I've definitely added it to my favorites list. Unfortunately it's another great course ruined by firm and fast settings. With the kinds of winds you see in Links, even getting a pitch shot to stay on the green is difficult. Perhaps I can convince the designer to release a softer version, but for the time being this course is not eligible for tour play.
If you'd like to see what 25 mph winds on a firm and fast Links course looks like, this ought to keep you entertained:
All things considered, I'm quite proud of shooting -1.

Just played Rye Bay. Amazing course. Shot +3 due to to bogeys in the last 3 holes but I loved it. It is hard which I like but can see why it would be saved for the main tours. Firm and fast done correctly.

Let me clarify. I enjoy both courses. Prefer Rye Bay but feel that should be on main tour whilst San Monique would fit nicely onto the Web tour.

Soggy bottom, I love it. Tight fairways, so you have to be careful in what shots you make. No grab the driver & smash it, well not on every hole.
Played my 2 tournament rounds in winds of 4-10mph, which I thought was perfect for this course.
Some of the greens have a lot of movement & some have none, so in all it's pretty fair, as long as you get close, birdies/eagles are there.

Yeah spot on with this course. Looks nice, has an awesome name, and it plays fair.
Had a horrid first round where nothing quite panned out but could see potential for a good score. Played well in second to shoot 61, could have been even better but this course doesn't give shots away. Only just got around to play my final 2, was on fire most of the third but course still got me with water on the back nine, 60 was just a whisker short of the 59 I was wanting. However despite playing final round immediately after I had a shocker... Struggled to a 68.
My conclusion with this one is play well you'll score well, bring your B game and it will laugh in your face... Good balance I feel for tournament
