It was a fun trip back to George Wright for me a couple of weeks ago. Although I live fairly close, I had not played the course in over 10 years. Well overdue for a visit, I trekked out in the July heat and was not disappointed! Very interesting to play again after all these years and little bit more golf design/architecture knowledge. Just a super cool use of the terrain, interesting green complexes, and really good conditions for a "muni" (technically the course is run/owned by the city of Boston) given the hot and dry weather we have had. Wanted to share a few pics: 7th green & 5th greens: Par 3, 17th 4 and 6: This might seem odd, but here are some of the rocks that demonstrate the fairly rugged terrain the course is built on. The course is less than 5 miles from The Country Club, so it shares the same type landscape to work with. (this is the left side of 6 looking back towards tee). And of course, the Clubhouse...don't make em like this anymore!

I live pretty near GW - play it regularly. Always great fun to get the muni double header in, with Franklin in the morning followed by a hot dog at the GW grill & 18 in the afternoon heat! I have the George Wright LiDAR file, courtesy of beamt0wn, and I love occasionally flying around those greens and reminiscing of the 3 putts.
