Day 1 Match 9 O'Dell/Farrell vs Oram/AndersonBeen a bit stressy in the Head Office of the Daily Striker last week. Called into the office to see the Big Cheese Mark L. Head Honcho Marky Mark "So, what's this trashy bit of paper in my hand. A holiday request form for next week. Are you an imbecile? You do know it's Cyder Cup week and all leave is cancelled". Of course I replied, it's me that set the date. "Well then you really are a proper idiot then. Cancel this so called holiday and get out on the course" But, my son is getting married and I obviously want to be there I retorted. "I don't care if it was you getting married to bloody Beyonce, NO LEAVE MEANS NO LEAVE!!!" Well after a bit of a man to man talk where he talked and I nodded I headed off to the 1st tee at The Belfry with my tail between my legs. Little does he know I'm buggering off on Wednesday and he can stick his job up his arse. Who'll be the winner then Marky Mark eh? As I arrived for my match I saw the Strikers pairing of Big D Celtic Wolf and Kie Kie with a translator in tow for Pat so we could all understand what he was saying in that delightful scottish brogue. In the red corner Drippy Danny xxdannyxxo and Loopy Leon Loftyando Let battle commence!! The Monarchs got lucky early on with the Strikers lads busy posing for photographs no doubt to be used in the article "How The Cup Was Won" or "Blue Heaven" in the upcoming Pixel Golf Monthly. Four up after the 5th hole and further disaster strikes on the 8th where a lucky 3 foot putt that circled the hole by Lanky Leon (keeping it clean, rhymes with....) made it 5!! A magnificent rally by the Boys In Blue eroded the Monarchs lead to 2 by the 15th but it wasn't to be for our Heroes in Blue as a bit of streaky play on the 16th grabbed an undeserved victory for The Monarchs leaving our favourites feeling blue. Monarchs Win 3 & 2
