A question I get asked a lot is " Does tgctours give back" and the answer is of course we do. Tgctours is a very kind and giving organisation that truly values it's members and its community. So ever now and then when a staff member screws up, the tgctours lawyers make deals with the courts to avoid jail time and through court ordered mandatory community service, we give back. This time around we decided to bring course design to people that may not otherwise have a chance to experience the creative side of golf, prisoners. So we sent designers that we do not minding losing in prison riots to various jails around the world to teach these poor souls something new, and while we were not expecting much, there was always going to be a chance that one of the prisoners might just come up with something that we could use and as an added bonus, we get to use the course for free as they are entitled to nothing but learning. Must of the designs we got back were not much use to us, so many of them had non-traditional aspects on the course such as escape tunnels, guards towers, shared showers in the club houses and the odd electric chair thrown in here and there. But there was one stand out design, now for security reasons I can not use the name of the person involved as he is due for release soon and will be entering the witness protection program so I will just use his prisoner number to acknowledge him, so take a bow inmate cg444, as promised we will not reveal your name. The last thing any of us here on tgctours wants is to put Mrs Gooding and Chris junior in any danger after they move to their new home in Alaska.
I know many of you will be curious to know why he was incarcerated but lets now worry about that, lets focus on the golf course that has been provided for you guys to enjoy and that course is Mula Polvorienta, a course set in New Mexico along the famous Rio Grande river, an area that the designer knows very well, as he has said himself in confidential interviews with tgctours staff, " I thought it was best to work my design into a plot of land I am familiar with, not only will you guys get an amazing golf course, but I know all the best river crossings, just in case you need something transported over the border, no questions asked, no paperwork, no problem and should you need something to disappear, well lets just say the any golf ball that goes the edge on hole six and 14, is never found again, you get my meaning?" I personally don't get his meaning, I am guessing he is saying, as an added bonus to the finances of tgctours, the chances of lost golf balls are high and we can sell extra in the club house, just buy them cheap in Mexico and sell at an inflated price in New Mexico. All I know the admins are very happy with this, very happy indeed, every time I see them at the course, their happiness seems to be lifting them to new highs and if the admins as happy, I am happy and hopefully all of you will be happy with your rounds this week, good luck and have fun all.
