Better late than never, my Texan entry for National Treasure has been published. Note it's a PS4 publish, so make take a while to show up. Set deep in Texas Hill Country, the front 9 is the more open of the two, with nearly every shot giving the player a view of troubles ahead or past. The 9th and 10th play alongside the Paluxy River, with the water coming into play on both tee shots and approaches. Everything feels narrower as you enter the back nine - gone are the open, expansive views, replaced by tighter tree, lined fairways as the the course works its way up and down, before finally reaching the high point of the 16th tee. From there you are faced with par 5 with options off the tee, a long par 3 where ground game is key, and finally the challenging 18th where the course again opens up to remind the player of the joys and perils of the last few hours.

Thanks! I really struggled to settle on a look for this one given all the possible options with Texas. Just knew that I wanted something that was fairly open. High praise coming from a local anyway!

Kenny this is nicely done and should be a well respected entry. I expect your days as an alt are numbered. I like how even though it's subtle and wide open it still has some challange. The enviornment looks a bit bare but when you play it, it's not bare at all just minimal as I suspect planting in Texas would be.
My only critique if you don't mind me offering it is I feel the creek could have been used in different ways. It seems to be cutting arross the fairway right at driver length a bit too much and not enough utilized in different ways through the round (next to a hole, behind a green, etc.) But overall very nicely done!

Really cool natural environment. Great colours and the water was done really well. The meandering waterways had a Guadalupe River feel to them. I enjoyed the slight undulations and picking the right club in a decent breeze. Some decent sized greens with a good speed on them.

trailducker - appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! sandgroper - thanks for the playthrough I just watched your round, looks like you it pretty tough, with a lot of the longer holes playing into the wind. Some good scoring given the conditions!

Solid work here and lots of fun to play. Some tight routing that could have been spread out a bit. Hole 7 green is pretty small, even for a short-4. The 9th is a bit quirky, too...playing to the other fairway is a better play.
Lots of downhill elevation off the tee, too...didn't recall going back uphill, either. That felt a bit repetitive after a while.
But the creek meanders nicely thru the property, and the look seems to capture that Texas feel pretty well.
Great work!

I was trying to go for a nice open look on the front 9, with a lot of the fairways joining up in places. Something a little different, but things definitely got a little crowded around the 7th. 9 seems to be unfortunately quirky - it wasn't my intention for the best play to be down another fairway. In hindsight I needed a few trees there to block out that option. Not sure I totally agree with you about the lack of uphill holes though, there are quite a few uphill tee shots and approaches . Glad the overall Texas look came through in the end!
