On opening an unpublished project I get the warning "too many objects" yet the object meter states 19.3%. Is that something I need to fix prior to publication?

No it has to be bad programming on HB’s side. I get it frequently.

The best way to resolve is sculpt/ delete generated trees and just stamp a brush anywhere.
