I was talking to this weeks designer aeastwood54, Allan I said, with me being the greatest Irish scheduler of all time and if a cruise liner full of the greatest Irish designers of all time was hit by a 747 with the rest of the greatest Irish designers of all time and they all sank to the bottom of the sea never to be seen again, you might make the top 10 list, together we can create the greatest Irish course of all time to host the greatest Irish Kinetic event of all time. And by we, I mean you create and do all the hard work and I will just take all the credit. Now, remember, before you reply, that you signed a contract the first time you had a course on this tour saying that in the future, that you will do what ever I say whenever I want, so really you have no choice so get to work. He then left the room with out saying a word, the fact I picked him must have effected him so much that he was not able to speak as his heart was filled with pure joy.
Fast forward 6 months later and the course was ready. I should have suspected something was up when he asked my to fly to California but I thought he was going to buy me a present as a thank you for all the good I have done for him, you know, maybe a house along the beach or something. There was no house, there was a golf course, in the desert. Allan, I said, this is not Ireland, but we could get over that if you created a Irish replica course to make lots of money from all the plastic paddy's that live in America, and even though I have not been in Ireland for a long time and cant go back until the statute of limitations runs out, but I do know there is no desert in Ireland, sure there are area's of wasteland like County Tipperary but no desert. What have you done, do you think this is some sort of joke, how can we hold the greatest Irish golf event of all time on a desert course in a completely different country. Well, you know what, I don't have to put up with this, so I am banning you from hosting an event on the Kinetic for a week, no 2 weeks, who is laughing now, not only that, since you seem to love Homer Simpson so much, I am renaming this event to the Springfield Championship, now get out of my sight.
And that is the reason why this week we are heading to sunny Springfield in California instead of wet and windy Ireland, and Allan is the only one to blame. I know you are all disappointed but sometimes you just have to make do, have fun all and good luck.
