Some Fictional Fun…
WVU Athletics Press Release West Virginia University Mountaineer Athletics is proud to announce its new partnership with Broken Hatchet. The new golf club will feature state of art practice facilities for both our men’s and women’s golf teams and be the home for all future Mountaineer hosted Big 12 conference events. We are excited to announce this new partnership and we look forward to seeing both our teams compete at this gorgeous new addition to our WVU family. Broken Hatchet Opening June 1st, Broken Hatchet will be a semi-private, par 72 championship golf club situated 15 minutes outside of Morgantown, West Virginia. Designed by The Nogoal Group LLC, construction is currently underway. The property will feature: - A par 72 championship golf course with stunning views and dramatic elevation changes set in the rolling hills and mountains of the Appalachia.
- A 13,000 square foot clubhouse on the edge of a bluff overlooking the holes in the valley below, a 5-star restaurant perfect for business lunches or romantic dinners, and indoor event center built for hosting weddings or corporate outings.
- WVU team practice facilities featuring multiple indoor simulators and a 2,700 square foot indoor putting and chipping area. The outdoor driving range and practice area will also be second to none.
Practice facilities are scheduled to open May 1st with some limited course testing. See our website for membership information. Welcome to Broken Hatchet. --------- Inspiration photos: A couple of course pics:

I don't believe betas are allowed.

jwtexan Can you confirm? Can we publish a beta and get feedback as long as we are the only person in the designer? I looked through the rules and didn't see any mention of it. Since this is my first contest I didn't know if it had to be posted or was a "spirit of the contest" type thing. I am fine either way. I am doing this on PS4 so I can't share the file with anyone else anyway... at least not in a way I know how.

I think, in general for contests like this, no betas or even asking for feedback is allowed during the course building process. You can post WIP pictures and information to share with others, but you can't look for "help". To me that makes sense, because at the end of the day, the entry you submit should be all your own work with no real outside assistance. Besides, if you think about it, no one involved in the contest (judges or participants) will really be willing or able to offer any kind of thoughts on your course... PS - none of the pictures you posted in this thread are showing for me on desktop...they just have the little error sign.

I was trying a new upload site for the pictures (apparently a bad decision). I think I have fixed the problem and the pictures should be showing up now. If they are not please let me know. I will not publish a beta of this course... it makes sense not to but I didn't know. Good luck to all!

We reserve betas/sharing more for the rookie contest and the dream team competition. Tagging @crazycanuck1985to confirm

Done... until I playtest again tonight and tweak something else... I'm going to publish day 1 just so I stop tinkering with this damn thing! Cheers and good luck to everyone except Heisenberg, if your NT course is anything like Shakopee Creek I think we're all vying for 2nd place. We're all hoping Nevada secedes from the union this week to invalidate whatever new masterclass you're about to publish. Final pics... with the underplanting the meter is now at 100%.

Looks like you've done a tonne of work and the plot's looking great. I'm unlikely to publish but appreciate the sentiments all the same. If only I could take shortcuts and use lidar in contest courses too Best of luck with this one.
