Looks great! I'll surely give this a go. Is this countryside themed? Cheers guys Yep it is done in countryside theme. The long grass in that is better than the heavy rough texture you get in links theme. There are some awesome links theme courses but I felt for the look I wanted this was better. The course is under the completed section now if you want to look for it. Either 'The Links at University Place' for the US Open entry or 'Links @ University Place [memb]' for a softer and slightly easier version. If you find searching for it a problem just search 'University' and you'll see it on there

Anyone is interested I have been working on some improvements to this course.... Submitting it 1 minute before the deadline it wasn't really finished and I have been wanting to get an improved version out since. Now the contest is over I am hoping I can win over some of the people who rightly didn't enjoy the narrow, firm and fast experience. I've taken on as much feedback as possible and have opened up a few more possibilities to my course. It is also around medium soft and medium speed greens. I think it still plays tough but would love some views before I release it properly. Published under 'PYATES WIP UNI LINKS 004'. The 003 version strangely has 58 plays and I've not posted it anywhere, I have since made a few more improvements. Last time I didn't get a chance to get feedback so hopefully I can this time around. Things I'd love to know: - Favourite hole - Least favourite - Anything fun/unfair about the course - Anything I changed for the worse or even for the better - Is it still difficult (but fair) or not? - Just basically if its any good Also what on earth should I name it given my initial name is taken... 'Uni Links' Cheers all

I was definitely a fan of the original. So, I'll try to take some time to give it a look and provide feedback. BTW...what system are you designing on?

Some updated pics posted over on HB forums: Wider 1st hole (left side gives better angle at pin but has most danger). The 1st is also now a shortish Par5 Wider 3rd teeshot: 13th from the higher tee position, plus more polish etc 14th tee shot, no wider but much better looking: 17th, now from lower tee and fairway is a lot more reasonable in slope

Ok. Played it last night. I really like this course a lot. Favorite holes would probably be 4 and 9 if I had to choose. Lots of good ones. My least favorite would be 17. Much better than it was though. There were a couple tee boxes that need leveling. #5 and #8 I believe. Keep working on it. You've got an elite course in the making.

Let me correct/add a couple things. #8 tee doesn't need to be leveled. It was just #5 and 17. One other thing I need to add is that you may take a look at #11 fairway landing area. I believe it's a bit too steep and the ball can roll backwards a considerable distance. And from a purely aesthetic standpoint there were a couple of mounds on #11 that seemed a bit too pointy.

Thanks so much, I've always been a little unsure of 9 so glad to hear some support on it Hadn't spotted the teebox issue so thanks will take a look. Completely agree on 11... I really liked it at first as it is a bit different but you can almost do nothing to prevent a blind second and you may as well hit a 3 wood as it often runs down at the moment. I actually pulled it apart last night and have already toned down those mounds plus looked at improving the landing area. I may yet go more radical but haven't decided, something needs to happen As for 17, its one of my favourites, is it the hole design or execution? I think the runoff area to the left of the green doesn't need to be as extreme and maybe the green is a bit too long. For me, the aim was a relatively easy par 5 that you expect to birdie eagle, but if you go at it in two and catch the run off area you have a tricky up and down for that birdie that can easily result in you cooking away with a par. The long narrow green makes for a fun second if you catch it right and run all the way down to the pin, but it being so narrow means its an easy one to miss, especially given the side hill lie on the second shot. Not saying I'm right, I think sometimes a designer sees/aims for one thing but when played differently a hole can be viewed very differently indeed Thanks again, some much appreciated feedback

I think that conceptually 17 is a good hole. It may just be the overall contouring and the green does seem a little off. Maybe it's because it is so long and narrow. I'm sure you've looked at it in many different configurations. As long as you're happy with it that's all that matters. Really looking forward to the finished product.

My heartfelt sympathy! Lol, one of these days I'll buy myself a beefy PC... Whatever justification I give for the purchase secretly it will be just to play this game . I do own a copy on steam but my current PC isn't up to it

Cheers, I'll be relaying 11 and 17 and see what the result it. I kinda left 17 quite raw, it probably needs to be relayed like I did all the other holes. If I don't like it then I'll keep as it is hopefully it will come out better. Probably will wait to publish the finished course until the update so I can add a road in as well. Then it's on to my next... Love this game Cheers for the feedback, was really impressed with Harbour Pointe btw, it killed me but sank a few epic putts which helped lighten the experience. Was a lovely looking course and didn't think it was unfair despite the firm/fast. I think it was yourself who said you'd publish a 4 day tournament with different setups? If you do I look forward to giving it a bash. May do the same with this, if its only me who plays then at least I'll enjoy it as it was initially intended
