More like 20 yards+ in some occassions. Also currently you can take a drop on the green, which will most DEFINITELY be abused cause someone with an 80footer with huge break, move it back off the green without penalty and chip/flop. sounds flawed should be a 1 stroke penalty with a drop within 8 foot no nearer to the pin. Anyway how often in golf do we get uplayable lies. Really has to be in cabbage or right up against a tree anyway how can you take a drop when on the green? Thats not an unplayable lie. I'm a bit confused about this

You can technically take an unplayable lie anytime you want, you just have to take your penalty. Right now I'm checking to see if you can tell if someone has dropped or not. its stupid and opening a can of worms to being abused.Should only be able to do it in heavy rough

Email sent to admins and posted to HB. I agree this needs to be fixed asap.

Right now I'm checking to see if you can tell if someone has dropped or not. its stupid and opening a can of worms to being abused.Should only be able to do it in heavy rough The rules of golf allow a player to take an unplayable lie penalty at their discretion at any time, regardless of the position of the ball, There are three options - 2 club lengths, no nearer to hole. (Not an option for OB) Keeping the position of the ball between yourself and the hole, move as far backwards as you like and drop. (Same for hazards, except point of entry instead of final rest). replay the shot. (Always an option) all with 1 shot penalty, of course. with lateral hazards (red stakes), you actually have the option of taking your drop at an equidistant point on the opposite edge of a hazard if you prefer. This is not a well known option. i don't know how all these are working in the game. I haven't had a chance to play yet with the new update.

WHich includes greens. No pro would take an unplayable lie from the green and doing so is the same as a person turning around and putting it off the green to chip/flop, so I'm not seeing an issue with this. We allow it now. I guess the only difference is you get to "PLACE" your ball where you want on the fringe and not take the chance of plowing it into the rough or bunker.

Correct, as long as HB fix the penalty stroke not being added to the final hole score issue, then their implementation of the unplayable lies rule is fine.

But worried you can move the ball 20 yards or so back into a much better position and lie, when irl you would only be able to move the ball less than 3 yards

This is correctly mirroring the rules, as long as you keep the original ball position between you and hole when determining your drop.

Here is what you see... You can see the shot from the fairway where the upper and lower score counter is the same. After the drop, however the upper one shows the correct strokes with penalty but the bottom does not.

In the end i took 5 strokes with a drop so it should read 6 on the scorecard, but this is what it shows.

You are right just checked the rules, unless you're in a bunker, the ball drop must end up in the bunker or you can rehit your previous shot with a stroke penalty

I tried dropping out of a bunker and it DID make me drop in the bunker, so that is good at least.
The other weird thing is if you are playing someone and they take a drop, you don't see the actual drop. Their golfer doesn't move or change places. What does change (if you are looking for it) is their yardage will suddenly jump from lets say 170 to 195, but the animation shown is from the original place.
So at least the admin have something they can check if they are looking for it.

Not as frequent but really hope they fix it

Not to mention they still have to fix that annoying little quirk of your opponent chips their ball from the fridge or a takes a putt where the ball barely goes in on your computer, but on theirs, it lipped out... and vice versa.
