Set alongside a winding road in the Texas hill country is an old clay, sand and gravel company property. This course has big greens, it has small greens, it has pretty standard shaped greens and it has greens that will make you think the shaper had whiskey in his cowboy coffee that morning. Originally was going to call this one Bluebonnet Road as a tribute to the Texas state flower and Mike Strantz, but HB and its render distances and plants that look plastic had me go another direction with the planting and I think it was for the best. Have fun out there! For those unfamiliar with the area, the Texas hill country has fairly low profile trees and grasses that tend to hug the ever moving ground rather than grow up too high 175 default green speeds, and I am not sure it would be much fun any higher than that. SE/E/NE wind is the toughest I think. GO BLUE!

Gorgeous course Wes! Such a unique vibe to the place and some really fun golf holes. I think this'll do some damage in the matchups for sure. Great work

This one felt like a real adventure. Great storytelling environment. Super fun golf course too. Par 3s were incredible stuff. Everything just worked so well and really sucked me in. Top shelf mate.

Ok, I am a very mediocre designer. So my comments may not hold any weight here.
I just played a round on this course and IMO this is the most real looking authentic course I've played in long time.
Can't say enough about the planting (perfect). There are so many great courses where for me they are ruined when bushes pop out of the ground in windy conditions.
I didn't find an easy hole on the course and managed a -4 (still using master on xbox1x).
5 stars from me.
Thanks for making this beauty!

Looking forward to giving this a go. Inspiration from The Quarry in San Antonio?

Really lovely environment. Having an affinity with Texas (Canyon Lake) it looked wonderfully done. Such a tight route i.imgur.com/YaNYuO6.jpgFunky clubhouse i.imgur.com/IVGSIqN.jpg and maintenance shed i.imgur.com/vlfUt30.jpgAnd the reason for being, the sand company i.imgur.com/VggEdw6.jpgGreat risk/reward off the first, where I had to go for it. Picked just the right club on the 3rd to stop near the pin. Played the ground game on approach to the 5th and it worked out well and again on 6. Pulled my tee shot on 9 but got real close with the splash. Couldn't believe my 27 footer on 11 didn't drop. More of the ground game on 16. Went for it on 17 and messed up big time. I'm sure my splash climbed out of the hole. Caught the centreline hazard on 18 and couldn't get home. Really great track and I'm glad you used the red slopes for good not evil.

Such a good course. So many different plays especially with some of the slopes in the greens. Superb par 3s also 👍

cd06 - Thanks for supporting all courses, including mine, and for being the first comment, like, and probably play! trailducker - Glad you enjoyed, this is a contest full of good ones. Australian - Cheers man! Maybe we get paired up and take down a red team together. Demonondalinks - Thanks Todd, that definitely holds weight with me and means a lot. Always my goal to keep my courses as real as possible in game. b101 - Thanks for the playthrough and not holding back. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy people gassing up my ego, but it is always nice to get the real feedback and your videos have been great for every course in the contest. blindwolfgolf - Look forward to hosting you. I hadn't heard of that course before, but I do love San Antonio golf and that one looks like a fun setting. The area I had in mind for this course is probably located somewhere out past Boerne off of I-10 like Comfort or Kerrville. sandgroper - Another person that always comes through for almost every course in the threads. I appreciate it and always like to see what you pick out on a course for your photos, and really enjoyed watching your round too. Had a few really unlucky bounces for sure. hhaarryy - My course gets your account's first comment?! An honor. Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed.

Really love the environment here. Neat and unique concept. The waste areas and planting really make the course pop. Well done.
