Hello! I am new to these forums and was curious on one very basic question: Is there a place for geographically based societies?
I recently created a society that I'm hoping can fill with people living in the PNW, specifically Seattle area (Name: Seattle Golf Collective) as a fun way to take a virtual game and make it feel more local and real as we all compete on the links. That said, I cannot find much precedent for a location based society and I was curious how far people had delved into something like this. And if they have, where should I post to try and get some traction with the society?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums buddy.
Interesting concept you have, I can't be of much of help as relatively new myself but I am not aware of such societies. Can't even help with location, I am no where near you 🤣

Thanks! In answer to your question this section is the main place to advertise your society. Firstly what platform is it on? That narrows down your possible member base for starters. What difficulty level are you playing. Some only play Master, some Pro, some both. Not seen anyone try this concept before so I wish you good luck. Best I can suggest is to start a thread with your society name and see if you can attract interest from players local to you with the title.

There is a Michigan Group and an Ireland Group that I know of on Xbox. But haven’t seen any PNW. Do they even have golf courses out there? J/k. I’ve obviously seen where the Dunes land on the top 100 every year and I assume you will include Banff Springs in the PNW as well. Good luck

Bro, I was trying to make a lidar based one for the Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri area, and after about 3 weeks you run out of courses. I basically defaulted to following the Tour schedule and Monday through Wednesday running 3 day tourneys on real or fictional courses that I made sure had legit pin placements etc. The idea is cool, but maybe you can do it yourself and get a list of all your area courses within several states and use TGC Tours to see if they're out there. IT's definitely a process though.
