Tiger Woods is speaking for the first time since his catastrophic February car accident, and he's delivering healthy doses of both good and bad news. First, the good: Woods is walking again, and his quality of life is returning. He believes he'll be able to play golf again one day, although not quite as rapidly as he'd hoped.
Now, the bad: Woods concedes that his days as a full-time golfer are over. “I think something that is realistic is playing the tour one day — never full time, ever again — but pick and choose, just like Mr. [Ben] Hogan did. Pick and choose a few events a year and you play around that,” Woods said in an interview with Golf Digest. “You practice around that, and you gear yourself up for that. I think that’s how I’m going to have to play it from now on. It’s an unfortunate reality, but it’s my reality. And I understand it, and I accept it.”
I just want to see him become a happy person and live the rest of his life in peace. If he gives us a couple matches a year, I can live with that as he has given us decades of fun.

Honestly, that doesn't seem all that different than how it's been even prior to the car accident. He definitely brings eyeballs to the sport, would be good to see him back and as healthy as he can possibly be.

The unfortunate truth with Tiger is that he has brought the majority of his problems upon himself. As he's matured he's become a bit more likeable but for those not on the Tiger train he was very easy to root against. Disgusting habit of spitting all over the greens, ignoring the fans, friction with his fellow pros, waffle waitresses in every town, and now an utterly avoidable high speed car crash which he's lucky didn't go all Henry Ruggs on him. I know he wasn't DUI (this time! He might have been better off if he'd just fallen asleep behind the wheel again...) but he was still driving very recklessly.
That's not to say I don't recognise what he has brought to the sport, and he may never equal Jack's record of Major wins but there's no doubt in my mind he's the greatest player to ever pick up a set of clubs. There was a 3 or 4 year spell where he was head and shoulders above the field which in this ultra competitive sport is almost unbelievable. He'll still draw a crowd and I too hope we see him back on the course. I just don't see his legacy with the same gold tinted glasses as some.

LOL...and just like that, Tiger Woods is back. He has committed to playing in the PNC Championship with his son on Dec. 18-19.

I can tell you from playing hockey back in my youth the bench is the grossest place next to the bathrooms at most hockey arenas.

Even though this is Tiger Woods, it’s pretty cool.

I played baseball throughout my entire childhood and college and I can't be within 100 yards of a diamond without getting the urge to hock a loogie
