PLEASE NOTE: I have locked this thread because I would like to keep the judges anonymous. If you have a question that isn't answered below - I definitely haven't thought of everything - send me a message and I will respond, and add your question to the Q&A below.
We are looking for volunteers judges for the 2021-2022 TGCTours Rookie Design Challenge. If you volunteer, this is what you'd be doing: Playing a lot of extra PGA TOUR 2K21!
Volunteers will be asked to play several courses for each judging round in order to rank the assigned courses in order from best-to-worst. As they play, volunteers are asked to take notes about each course, and to highlight the best and worst aspects of each course so that feedback can be given (anonymously) to the participants at the end of the event. For each round of judging, judges will receive a new slate of courses to evaluate and rank.
Judging is slated to begin February 1, 2022, and will take about 5 weeks to complete.
At the close of the registration period, there were 63 entrants. To be able to judge that large number of courses, we are looking for somewhere between 18 and 24 judges.

How do I volunteer to be a judge?
Send a message to ErixonStone to let me know you are interested in volunteering. I will add you to the list of judges.
Can I volunteer to judge just some of the contest?
Yes. If you're willing to help out, even if you can't commit to judging the entire event, that would be greatly appreciated!
Do I need to be a course designer in order to be a judge?
No. In fact, a player's perspective is desired. We want a diverse group of judges.
Can I offer feedback on WIP threads and BETA publishes if I volunteer to be a judge?
Yes. I trust that we can judge fairly, and this event is about building a community. So feel free to lend a hand.
Can I stream/record my playthroughs/reviews as I judge?
Yes. Feel free to produce any content that you'd like.
How many courses will I officially judge?
If you judge all the rounds, you'll end up playing about 60-75% of all the entrants in an official capacity.
If courses are published in advance of the Judging Period, should I play/review them?
That's up to you, but I can't guarantee that you'll be assigned to courses that you've played in advance.
How will scoring work?
You'll rank the courses in order from best to worst. The rankings of all the judges will be compiled to determine the final rankings.
Will I coordinate/communicate with other judges?
Yes, space will be provided to share your thoughts with the other judges. Please be courteous to other judges. You may have wildly different opinions about a particular course. That doesn't make either of you an idiot.
Will I judge the same course in multiple rounds of judging?
Yes, but probably not until the final stages.
How many rounds of judging will there be?
Hard to know for sure because it depends on the number of courses that are ultimately submitted. But let's assume that all 63 entrants publish a course.
First Round: 63 --> 32
Second Round: 32-->16
Third Round: 16-->10 (because I like having a Top-10)
Fourth Round: 10-->5
Finals: Pick a winner from the top 5.
So, at most: 5.
