I think also the cool thing with these contests is when you see a course you like, following those designers as they produce more and more tracks. I’ll have to take a look back at the playthroughs to see what the critiques were.

Hello Darkness my old friend..... Hey it's ya boi Q coming at ya with another tier list, today we are gonna discuss "Lighting!" with who's got the darkest, most shadowy course!. be sure to like and subscribe for more endless tier lists as this is all this channel is about I have no other creative ideas in my head other than ranking random stuff this video is sponsored by raid shadow legends
Now let's GET INTO IT
let's start off with the F tier courses, Are guys even trying for darkness? Not even a shadow in play? what are you doing man? Shadows and Clouds are LIFE. so in F tier we have the lone Moab Downs by the ducker of trails, sorry mr. sunshine, this tierlist aint for you
Now we round off of D Tier Courses, these are still mostly sunshine and rainbows but some clouds linger around as well as shadows creep in with the lower sun angles. We got Tkope (White Boob) Tatoosh, Dirty Ridge Ranch and Billabong together in this group. Not much more to say
Now in C Tier we start getting more of what Im talking about! Overcast weather! Obscured Suns! Coadling Cabe, Daggertooth and Royal St Gerald's round off this group showing a little bit of their darker sides
B tier is an interesting one and Im gonna have to do myself dirty here by putting myself and Tor in B tier. Yes there are shadows galore expressing their allegiance with the void, but also tons of fun in the sun! No clouds in the sky even? I dunno what I was thinking! So in the end we are left in B tier as a mixed bag
A tier is where we have the cream of the crop, the darker and darker. The supreme dankness we all desire. The trees and planting start to blend into the void and become one with the darkness creating lovely mattes across the course. Here and Here alone we have Blackmoor, living up to its name!
and now for S tier, a course so dark at times I get overwhelmed with emotion, Old Onion! The king of darkness here, maybe a bit brighter in some spots but otherwise ultimate darkness envelops my monitor. I stare into the abyss of Onion, and it stares back. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn. In his house at Onion dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.
and that's my tier list folks! If you disagree tell me why down in the comments and make sure to smash that like button!

I knew I didn’t have much of a chance making top 10 because the courses that did make it are all awesome! I sure had a ton of fun designing giggleswick field and can’t wait to try and up my game for my future courses. Good luck to everyone still in the competition!

ICYMI: Say HELLO to the Rookie Design Challenge TOP 10 Courses! Congrats to all of these designers on a well-deserved honor. Pretty shocking to not see Mullen County here. Some really great hole design here and I am not sure that a lot of the plot manipulation tricks he did came through (dirt paths with buried trees thanks to heavy rough everywhere else; it being a steppe(?) plot that was completely hidden thanks to the hills scultping, etc.), but there were a lot of things done here that were well beyond "rookie" stuff. Good run talented_mr_yipley , look forward to your next effort. But this is an impressive top 10. Good luck everyone.

That said I agree it should've made the top 10 IMO some really great competition at the top

Playing Devils advocate here if Mullens in, who drops out 🤔🤔 Probably Pat’s T’Kope Tatoosh or Q’s Tor — two solid tracks, but does either have the “it” factor??? 😉

Playing Devils advocate here if Mullens in, who drops out 🤔🤔 Obviously not an easy ask. And that is something for a rookie contest. Years past you would see maybe 2 or 3 get tour stops, and there was usually an obvious winner or at best an obvious top 2. This year I am pretty sure everyone on the top 10 has a tour stop with half being on elite, plus Mullen is on elite as well. Very nicely done by all.

To put it into perspective, my entry Windurra was tour worthy and hosted a CC event. This course didn't even make it out of the first round of judging. I think it shows how deep the field is this year and also shows that tour worthy distinction doesn't necessarily mean better golf course.
