This course has been a long time coming, originally it started as a CC contest course and life got in the way of publishing for that. I stuck with the project and it turned out pretty solid. Set in some hills of Southwest Texas, this course measure 7400 yards from the tips. The fairways are pretty open but nothing good happens if you miss them. Lots of brush, mesquite, and cactus will cause massive headaches.
Enjoy your rounds, and let me know what you think of it!

Routing Picture for the nerds:
Hole 1: Par 5 Black - 551 Blue - 533 White - 498
A short par 5 to get the round started with a wide fairway and a cluster of bunkers out left that need to be avoided off the tee. Heavy mounding around the green could make it an awkward up and down if you miss. The green is tilted pretty heavily from right to left with a single green side bunker guarding the left side making it imperative to be careful if you are trying to stay below the hole.
Hole 2: Par 4 Black - 405 Blue - 405 White - 397
A medium length par 4 with a tricky green complex that slopes away from you for your second shot. The right side of the fairway is much flatter than the left but protected by a large bunker, but if you can carry it you are rewarded with a good view of the green. Be careful a bunker is hidden behind the green if you miss club.
Hole 3: Par 3 Black - 180 Blue - 160 White - 150
This par 3 looks straightforward but it could be tricky to get the ball close to some of the pins. A large slopes cuts diagonally across the green repelling your ball (or helping) if you hit it.
Hole 4: Par 4 Black - 387 Blue - 382 White - 363
A short and score-able par 4 that has a heavily contoured fairway. Laying back might be the best option but could leave you with a semi-blind second. Going up the right side will leave a short pitch into a green that is heavily tilted from back to front and elevated above you.
Hole 5: Par 4 Black - 491 Blue - 481 White - 472
The first long par 4 of the course and it demands an accurate drive. Four bunkers really pinch down the landing area, if you decide to lay up you will have to contend with a hogs back and an incredibly long second into a green protected by two bunkers. Look to use the slope on the left to help get close to the front pins.
Hole 6: Par 3 Black - 126 Blue - 121 White - 114
You can just see the flag stick on this short hole, a very deceiving shot. There is very little danger around the green, but you need to be close to have a birdie chance on this very sloped green.
Hole 7: Par 4 Black - 494 Blue - 484 White - 474
A tee shot that is best described as awkward awaits on the seventh. The further left you go the more you will have to carry the two fairway bunkers, but going right leads to a much longer shot to this flattish green. Large slopes in the fairway could definitely affect your approach. With a good drive this could be a birdie hole despite its length.
Hole 8: Par 4 Black - 308 Blue - 296 White - 286
A drive-able par 4 takes us back towards the dry river bed. Six bunkers guard the green if you choose to go for it with scrub brush to the left and a large slope long also punishing you if you miss. The layup option is also tricky with a bunker guarding the right and a heavy slope pushing the ball left around the hill leaving an awkward pitch across scrub brush and two bunkers.
Hole 9: Par 5 Black - 602 Blue - 593 White - 568
Perhaps the most picturesque tee shot on the course. You are taken down into the canyon along the dry river bed on this mid-length par 5. A few bunkers guard the landing area and the river bed is definitely in play if you get too aggressive. The fairway is heavily canted left to right and the green has a large knob in the middle where if you miss on the wrong side will leave a very tricky putt.

Hole 10: Par 5 Black - 562 Blue - 545 White - 511
The second of back-to-back par 5's opens the back nine for the golfer. The most heavily bunkered hole on the course and you will be punished if you find one off the tee. Be careful of the large valley on the left side of the green.
Hole 11: Par 4 Black - 457 Blue - 460 White - 419
A mid-length par 4 with plenty of bunkers to navigate off the tee. Working back up the hill you will have to make sure that you adjust and find the green.
Hole 12: Par 4 Black - 480 Blue - 457 White - 437
Another mid-length par 4 this one working back down the hill. The fairway has quite a few bumps and swales that could affect the trajectory of your second. Short of the green are three bunkers while long features some heavy mounding.
Hole 13: Par 3 Black - 220 Blue - 214 White - 209
A long redan par 3 set into the side of the hill. This is a par 3 where par could be a good score and birdie gain you a shot and a half on the field if the pin is tucked on the right side.
Hole 14: Par 4 Black - 452 Blue - 434 White - 412
Another awkward tee shot here, with a dry creek cutting into the right side of the fairway. If you can carry it you will have a very good look at this short par 4s green. The green is bisected by a large ridge with slopes that could help the ball settle close to the hole for a tap-in birdie.
Hole 15: Par 4 Black - 486 Blue - 476 White - 431
Your drive here will dictate just how difficult the second shot is. Carrying to the downslope will leave you an awkward downhill lie with a downhill shot to a green that will punish you if you miss. Going further right leaves a blind shot over a greenside bunker to a narrow green.
Hole 16: Par 3 Black - 196 Blue - 182 White - 164
The first hole on the course with water, the irrigation pond on the right guards the green here. Look to use the ground to get to most pins.
Hole 17: Par 5 Black - 598 Blue - 586 White - 571
A long par 5 set up by your drive. If you miss the fairway or find the center line bunker you'll have to be careful just how much you bite off with your second. A dry creekbed could cause a major headache if you misjudge your layup. If you are in the fairway it's a matter of how bold you want to be.
Hole 18: Par 4 Black - 492 Blue - 485 White - 442
The final hole features water down the entire left side and a green sloping strongly towards the lake. A wide fairway should give you a chance at birdie, but the fairway is also slanted strongly right to left leaving a hook lie when you really can't afford to go left.

Drew this on the review queue and really enjoyed my round. Thought the look was great and loved the low profile undulations in the fairway. Great stuff - keep it up!

Really enjoyable round. Loved the environment and southwestern feel. Greens were solid, hole designs well thought out. Recoverable for poorly hit shots but not easily so. Definitely would’ve done well in the CC contest, but can this one on tour anyway. Well done

Great course! Really loved the environment and thought the strategy was great all the way thru this one. Will happily return for more rounds in the future. Gonna recommend it to WhatAboutAmeobi - not for a feedback playthru, but just to get this course on stream because its so damn good.

Really enjoyed my round, shot 4 under, hopefully you've got more in the works!

b101 Thanks for the encouragement and the approval. Im glad the fairways worked well, was scared it might be a bit aggressive but it fit the landscape. Having smooth fairways would have been awkward to me in such a wild/rough setting.
scootmcgoot that is the way I was hoping it would play, and yes there was a lot of thought put into the holes. Even ripped out 9, 13, 11 green, and 12 green in the last push before publishing to make it more interesting.
@cd06 thanks for the kind words and the recommendation to @whataboutamoebi, would appreciate any feedback I can get and also the exposure.
@srurat64 I have a few plots started but not really happy with any of them and another course 60% complete but not sure I can get it to a level that id be proud of. Probably start on a new plot this week if my work schedule allows for it.

Thank you for tagging me on this one @cd06 What a great course! WhatAboutAmeobi thanks for the play through and the glowing reviews. I think the greens play very easy when you either chip in or hit it to 10 feet every time! Thet definitely get more interesting on faster speeds. I tried to tone them down a little bit compared to Holly Point where people were having nightmares about me for a few weeks. trailducker nice to know I have a fan out there. Was upset I couldn't finish my NT course too, but my work schedule gets absolutely chaotic sometimes and leaves me either exhausted or with no time to work on these projects. I'll do my best to get another course out by the end of January, already have a few ideas just need to see ooof I can get a plot that I like. Cheers everyone!

Really lovely course. Nothing crazy, good undulating fairways, greens were fair. The lighting really gives it an out back Texas feel (or Arizona). Managed to hold my round together right up until the last hole where I let my par putt slide past on the low side. Playing in very light winds also meant I could aim pretty much at the pin. 5 stars!

Such a fun time playing this course. A few breaks didn't break and one phantom double break ended in pars, I liked how every hole looked and felt different. I felt like I used a majority of the clubs in my bag . Lighting was spot on. Your planting theme and colors are great. I liked your usage of the light rough, nothing too punishing other than tap in pars which I know on the tour scene is like making bogey, but I'm just a designer who likes to play the game on a few occasions. Thanks for sharing your course!

Loved Holly Point but this for me is a half step up. Some great sightlines and tough drives. Some long 4s requiring accuracy with driver or a long approach if using a 3W. From memory the stretch from 7 to 9 was esp. impressive. Well done and thanks!
