Welcome to Driven By Design (DBD), our little (117 members) PS Society. As the name suggests, we are a Society that focuses on course design first. It’s a public Society with an open swing difficulty for all events other than our Master Monday’s. Our new season has started today so if you decide to stop by it will be Monday 🙂 We only have 3 rules at DBD 1) only members courses will be scheduled 2) every new design by a member will scheduled for an event 3) all feedback shall be respectful and constructive. One of our members tweeted this which certainly saved me some work  Some of last seasons courses. Designers of all levels are encouraged to join our Society, whether a first time auto gen or ‘tour’ level quality, we strive to make the next hole, and course, better than the last. We all lift each other to the next level. We also encourage non designers to join. You will see a wide variety of courses for your, or your friends, Societies. Our current Event  You look good Mr. Board 😉 Should you have any comments or questions our president gerek will be happy to oblige. Or laladiesman and any other member around. |

For those that are interested: A couple of years ago I was playing TGC19 and chatting with AndD77 (I'm not even sure that he's around anymore). We were both frustrated by the fact that you can spend so much time in the designer and never really have anyone appreciate the work that you put in. He said: "Someone should start a society that only plays it's member's designs." I told him that I would join a society like that and "Designers Only Tour" was born. Unfortunately, AndD77 had stuff come up and he was unable to keep up with the society. As an admin, I kinda took it over and kept it running until the release of PGA2K21. With the release of the new game, I rebranded the society "Driven By Design" and we have stayed true to our roots - only playing the courses that our members have created, and trying to give constructive feedback to help one another get better at designing. We are a small society (120 members at present) but we have continued to grow gradually since the 2K21 release. I don't think we'll ever be a huge society but we have definitely found a niche.
If you like to design courses, and you want to get them played and receive feedback, Driven By Design would be a great society for you to join. Obviously, non-designers are welcome too - DBD is a great place to play some original courses.
Truth be told, some of the courses that we play are pretty rough around the edges - which is totally understandable given the nature of our society - but, it is cool to see how designers grow and develop over time.
Anyway, big thanks to the DBD COO - laladiesman for his help in running the society and for all of his work on this thread. Thanks also to the members that contribute courses. And, thank you AndD77 (wherever you are) for having the idea to start this years ago.

Work currently in progress. I have no chance of winning but my first design is for the rookie of the year comp. Hopefully have it finished mid Jan ready for you guys to give your verdict. |
