I've taken the plunge moving away from fantasy courses and working on a RCR-Lidar of Hamilton Island. There are a couple of problems with it fitting on the plot, which has created a drama that I hope can be overlooked. The planting is proving to be a nightmare, but here's a real life shot of the 4th hole.  Beta is posted as HI_RCR_L_001. There is no planting at all, and I've started cleaning up the Lidar remnant artefacts and bunkers need some work but I've nearly finished the actual Hamilton Island. The course is located on the neighbouring Dent Island. View from the 18th tee.  |

If you can pull this off in the virtual world hats off to you, I’m still not sure how they built it in the real world, it’s an amazing area of Australia and an amazing piece of land for a golf course.
Having played a round there I have a few photos of the course if you require them.

I got to Hamilton Island for work and they locked us in a room for two days. I could see the golf course out the window but never got the chance to play it.

First post on the forum. This course has made my day!
For several years until a car accident in 2011, I worked for a company under contract to HI servicing and installing fire protection, including the original basic fit-out of the clubhouse on Dent during construction phase.
Unfortunately never got to play the course but was always on the list(Always planned to hit the Fire Chief up for a round Contractors vs Firies).
Quite impressed with your Hamilton Island, I found myself doing a 360 at every tee just to check out the scenery.
now to see if there are any other local courses (Mackay to Townsville region)

How's this one coming along? Any progress?
I've played the unplanted beta and it will be a cracking course once planted. Unfortunately doing justice to the planting on this course will be a big job.

Yea and that’s the rub.
It’s still sitting my queue and taunts me every time I l click on unpublished courses.
I must get around to getting back on it…
