Welcome back to the new and improved Honors Course located just 15 miles north of Chattanooga in a town called Ooltewah, Tennessee. The course was made in 1983 by The famous late Pete Dye. The Course is known to be The home of Amateur golf and is currently #28 on golf digest top 100 courses in the United States. the reason I decided to remake this course again was because new green information and google imagery came out to represent how the course is played today. A friend of mine (a caddy at the course) told me back in 2004 that The Ryder cup (hence the name change) had conversations to host an event at The Honors but the course declined because they were asked to remove trees around holes 16-18 for seating and Mr. Jack Lupton told them that the club didn't want to mess with the course. What I decided to do was actually call the course and ask them how they would set the course up today if they would have taken that opportunity back in 2004 and they gave me the information that I needed for this project. There are two tee sets for different rounds for society play my recommendations are day 1 black tees pin one day 2 and 3 white tees pins 2 and 3 day 4 black tees pin 4 This will be my last rendition of this course and is the most accurate to the current day golf course. The only thing i wish i could do is capture the absolute beautifulness of this gorgeous property. I really hope everyone gives the updated course a try and I hope everyone enjoys. “Rarely does one get to work with virtually untouched land, creating a course devoid of the distractions of land development and commercialism,” marveled Pete Dye. Speaking of late founder Jack Lupton, Dye continued: “He would settle for nothing less than the best. He understood the traditions of the game, the difference between a golf club and a country club. He wouldn’t tolerate mediocrity, but demanded excellence.” Pete Dye

Really great job on this one. Pete Dye type sculpting in this game I think is hard to recreate as a designer but you did a fantastic job. As always a great course and should get some well deserved attention.

Bearforlife73, which version (Tour) or (Ryder)? I remember reading your first post which referenced Ryder but there's a Tour version also. What's the difference? Cheers

I live in Knoxville and when growing up and to this day, people here consider it the best course in Tennessee. Still have yet to play it (and now the new, much hyped Sweetens Cove nearby), but I’ve only heard really great things. I’m excited to play this in the game and maybe one day give it a go in real life! I’ll give another reply when I’ve played it, but it looks awesome from the pics provided!

Again, haven't yet played it in real life, but it was a good test. Tight fairways and fun approach shots. Very solid.

Really challenging course. I had a fair bit of lag and there were a few red slows coming out when driving, not sure if the plant meter was high. It sometimes happens with Lidar courses as the file size is quite big to start with.
Other than that - playing in high winds - I managed to stay out of most trouble. Most of the time I was aiming well off the fairway and the greens were very undulating, making sure you had to hit to the right places. I aimed well into the water on 15 for both my drive and second shot. 16 I nearly aimed off the left side and still landed between the pin and the water. Really fun course!
