Because I'm far enough along, 14 holes sculpted and properly surfaced, along with clubhouse done and all but one rock wall, I'm putting up a WIP to force myself to finish. This is the first project even sniffing completion in a long time, so kind of a big deal.
No plants of any kind laid down yet, just clubhouse and walls.

So the inspiration is the club itself! Was not aware this was a real course. My bad. I should have twigged as we all know Craig is a fabulous designer of some very notable IRL courses. Thanks for the link sroel908. WIll check it now. Cheers

theclv24 , I'll rephrase my question... why did you choose this course? I love the lines and the contouring (evident from the shadowing) in the overhead screen capture no.2.

While I don't have a hugely impressive resume of courses to my name, this is by far the best course I've ever been lucky enough to play.

I received several hundred high quality photos of Kingsley. The interior doesn't have many trees, but the grass areas have a lot of vegetation and wildflowers that are pretty cool, which is something I remember from my round. The exterior, on the hand, is loaded with trees. So far I'm focusing on the exterior so I know exactly how much meter I have left to work with for vegetation. Just a couple of holes done so far.

Looks really nice so far. Curious as to how you'll handle the split tees on 4 and 9 (and to some extent 13), and the different gold tee lengths on 14 and 17. Also would love a back left pin on 13. Might be asking too much. May be impossible to recreate the mailbox on 18, so I'll have to keep my own bottle with me when I play it. I've played somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 rounds at Kingsley, give or take, so would be happy to assist with any course knowledge.

When I worked on the 4th tee it really made me think about what I wanted to do. What I settled on is that I will publish two versions. The first version will try as much as possible to follow the scorecard, including front tees. I also turned the greens down just a touch from where I started them at. For the 2nd, Tour version, I'll just do long tees, and use the multi-tee trick to switch up the locations for each round. Probably on 4 and 9 it would be something like two left and two right, etc.
Back left on 13 is absolutely in.
I'm not the most artistic planter in this game, finding creative ways to use objects like some other designers, but I did my best attempt on 18.
It just looks like a sign buried among some rocks, but I'm proud of the fact that it's actually 5 signs, so if you peeled back the layer on the first sign that you can see, there actually is a "box" in there that something could exist in. I don't have any virtual bottles of Jameson, though.
I'll definitely accept as much help as possible. Pin locations are always a must. I have 3 years of satellite imagery where pins are visible, so that has helped a little, but it's been a lot of judgment calls and trying to remember what pins I played, as well. Touch ups on green slopes are always helpful, too.

Mailbox looks great. It's been pretty empty during Covid anyway, but I've been bringing my own supply. Just sent a PM with some pin recommendations. The greens as built are probably unplayable under "very fast" conditions, but will be interesting to see. There's too much contour to get them running at anything more than about 10.5 in real life.
