20 courses with no Augusta National vs 58,000 courses and growing by the day...any questions? and have to pay 60.00 for the game and pay for downloads . but the people that will play it argue that the golf club don't have any licenced courses big deal. if you played tiger woods game for 12 yrs you know where to hit every shot every time you play it. wow fun
Just played Magnolia National for the first time tonight, had 6 birdies and an eagle but still dropped 6 shot and was happy to walk away with 2 under.I loved it,way better than the ea sports version of Augusta, only criticism No.13 didn't look quite right, but top marks to the course designer. But I did enjoy playing TW 14 on mates PS move controller

Player numbers are so far ahead of where I expected back in December, its ridiculous. This place is a full-on phenomenon and I can't see the release of yet another EA Golf game changing that significantly, especially given how underwhelmed I've been with what they've shown of it so far. I may pick it up at some point, but even that is far from certain Couldn't have said it any better. I don't wanna rate the new EA game coming out without having it actually played. But at this point, I don't know what it ever could offer that could take me away from playing TGC - and especially on this Tour here. What I think is going to happen is that this site will lose some players when the game comes out. But I'm sure that plenty of them will come back after a while. We will see...

You won't find me anywhere near RM PGA. I've invested too much time into TGC and i feel I have gotten more value from TGC than I have from PGA Tour (TW or what RM will have) ever since it came into existence.
The decision is way too easy for me. Especially since these guys at TGC Tours have done such an incredible job with what they are doing here in such a short amount of time. There's no reason to go anywhere else for me.

Honestly I am excited for Rory PGA Tour but AI will play both of them. I enjoy playing the EA games on harder difficulty.

I think this site and game is a perfect match. What started out as a golf game with a different twist (focus on the designer rather than a career mode and tournaments) now has the best of both worlds. It is possible that some players with no interest in designing will migrate to the new EA game but as long as they don't add a good designer I'm sure it will not be that noticeable... The one thing I thought was cool about the PGA franchise, even way back to PGA Tour 96 on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (Yes, I'm THAT old ) was playing real courses but there was always the limitation of not being able to play the whole tour schedule. Here we have a chance to get that, we've already played the Masters and several other great real life courses are available or on the way. Another limitation with the PGA games was that after a while you knew exactly where to hit the ball but here, thanks to all the great designers, you can play a new course every day and not run out in a lifetime!

I was all set to buy Tiger Woods PGA Tour, even after my first few plays of The Golf Club. However, after more play, and seeing the variety of courses I can play, my best friend and myself have decided to stick with The Golf Club (he's going to buy it and sign up to TGCT once he gets better).
I would still prefer the career/character progression to turn up in TGC for the personal aspect of the game (if I'm not with my friends, practicing courses for TGCT or actually playing TGCT I sometimes struggle to play this game), I like the variety TGC offers. Even if they can't add career mode, it would be nice if they could make TGC more atmospheric, possibly with the inclusion of crowds.

If EA still has the TW servers running after a year I might pick it up, but it'd have to be a big sale. Only 28 courses and no way to design my own, doesn't really thrill me.

2007 was my last EA golf game..Real courses was really there only good thing IMO. But there never is that many and to get more you have to keep throwing down $20 to get a few more courses. I never did like the fantasy aspect of it..and it does get old playing the same courses over and over. I've never been part of a "tour" playing any game so TGCTOURS is just the pièce de résistance. Add in a course creator and the real feel you get from striking the ball its about as good as you're going to get..

The new game looks pretty damn good visually. It is the first next-gen console EA sports golf game so I will definetly get it. I personally love TGC. But the only draw back is I have to play it on my PC and not my xbox. It is just so much easier to play on Xbox, but the graphics/FPS are just lackluster. Also, It is tough to play with friends or while drinking because of the skill-gap and this game is not as pick up and play as EA sports games. I wish they had a "easy" mode to play with friends or beginners or drunks..
