Hole one, a little stark on the massive elevation change straight out of the gate. Maybe thin some trees out on the left of landing area to make left pin more accessible. Think it will encourage players to go at it straight instead of using the slopes and out more balls in the drink. I do think the forces carry a little much for second shot as if you miss the fairway you gotta lay up with a lob wedge. Think the idea here is good though.
Hole 2 isn’t bad pretty simple par 3 good green slopes.
Not a fan of hole 3 being pretty much blind, not sure if this was intentional or not, but you can only see a sliver of fairway before the dogleg. Then the dogleg is very sharper but being 26y uphill you can’t rlly cut the corner. Can’t see the bunker to the left off the tee. I also think the the only option here is 3W. The Big Driver looks like it will run through the fairway, and hybrid doesn’t go far enough to to see around the trees on the inside. I’m terrible at this game missed just short of the fairway and had to lay up with 9i on a far 4. Think this hole might need a rethink.
4 is close, needs a sliver of fairway to run it up and maybe one less bunker to encourage people to hit driver. Right now there’s no reason to ever go for it with green a little over defended. Also here I noticed the planting. You need to rotate and resizing plants along the creek otherwise it looks very unrealistic. Planting behind the hole looks really good. Also I’d make the green a little bigger hard to find four pins there.
5 clear out some planting to the left off the tee will help your sight line. I’m not sure the double fairway here works. I can’t imagine anytime I’d want to be in the right fairway as it’s completely walled off by trees and has no angle into the green. Also no need to make trees out of bounds as you’re already punished enough for hitting in them. Again start your fairway a little closer to the tee, 215 is a bit long shoot for maybe 180. I like the green slopes and golf you included a fairway to run it up here. Bushes or trees behind the green again needed to be rotated and resized.
6 like the planting before the fairway looks like the right side was done well but the left side along the edge was copy pasted with no resizing. Fairway starts good spot here like the fairway undulations. Think I’d remove the trees on the front left of the green too they block view from pin 1. Apron on back of green doesn’t make much sense either to me not rlly useable. Also pin one seemed a little crowned with all slopes running away but not horrible.
7 like the idea of this hole nice breather. Fan of the camber in the fairway.
8 great looking hole from the tee. A little long for the shot it requires. Green is very small with no runup and 231 island green. Most players carry different clubs in the range and it’s hard to get to close to this pin even with a 100% perfect shot. This hole would work a lot better from maybe 150-180 out.
9 move the trees away from the tee and give us a better sitelien to show off the rest of hole. Feels way too narrow off the tee. Otherwise I’m fine with the hole.
10 Church pews on left feel a touch out of character with rest of course. Would stick with the style you’ve had going early or go more geometric instead of mixing the two. Good sikne off the tee, maybe make the bunker a little more visible and show it off. Think this hole is good. Punchbowl makes sense on a long par 4 with plenty of room to run it on.
11 fine with this hole, clearly a rendition on another hole 11 at a famous course not to be named. Don’t love the grasses behind tee with bushes behind. Think layering the grasses elsewhere and bushes behind bunker would look better.
12 like the narrows template off the tee though I wish you could see them from tee. Currently you can’t see them until you do the shot preview. I would recommend adding more somewhere down for second shot bc now it’s just smash 3W to green. Check out B101 videos for strategy on par 5s and templates. They’re rlly good. This fairway apron behind the green works a lot better but sculpting a bit harsh and I didn’t know it was there until after the shot.
13 same stuff with bunker sight line off tee and narrow trees. Green slopes are interesting.
14 water bunker doesn’t make sense and don’t play well. It’s isolated and doesn’t flow or come from anywhere, too small to be a lake. Generally just avoid them like this all together. Clearly thought about hazard placement here and the design is decent. Spline work a little messy might watch some Crazycanuck tutorials to clean that up. Teirs on the green are way to small and can’t hit them even with a wedge. 0% chance to hold a tier if you lay up of water.
15 this would work better as a shorter 5 as there is no incentive to cut the corner on the second shot and kinda forces a layup. Just remove the trees to the left of the second dogleg. Plateau on green is too big and you can’t rlly pin anything besides on top. I’d make it smaller and be able to pin the edges
16 like the idea water to left. Dead straight hole tho no need to challenge the water and will just always play right. Maybe a slight dogleg here or something to make it a bit more interesting & bring water into play. Bunker again can’t see off the tee. Green slopes interesting, maybe a little dicey of a pin 1 on yellow/orange slopes.
17 plays very very similar to 11 and I’d say mix up the par 3s to add interest. 3 in a row have included a water carry to a shallow green. I’d say this green is a little too shallow for the shot it requires.
18 the 90 degree dogleg is typically frowned upon in TGC tours. Not a big fan of this hole at all as you have to hit driver and the fairway seems to narrow to hold it. Trees block you from going at green so really only one shot you can hit here and you need to have the right driver. I’d rework this hole and come up with a little different finisher.
Overall some interesting ideas and an overall decent job planting. Keep at it watch some cancuck and b101 videos for ideas. Also
