Santuario. Inspiration was taken from obvious NZ courses initially, the course has since went through a lot of texture and planting changes but I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out. The course has two tee sets, black playing 7066 and white playing 6927. On quite a few holes the tees are separated to create a different angle of approach rather than a change in distance. Hopefully this will work well during a 4 round tour event. With this course being aimed at the CC tour, the thinking behind it was to create generous fairways. I didn’t want to beat the average CC player up by constantly playing from heavy rough, it’s always a lot more fun to play whether you have a nice lie from 125 yards or 200 yards. The fairways will tighten up and run off at 300 yards on a fair few holes but playing aggressively round here can really shorten the course. Make sure to take time to check how to play the hole before playing your shot, this course has a lot of fairway to use, not every hole is as it seems. Be mindful that laying up may create blindness with a lot of slopes and high sided waste bunkers. Required elements are as follows… #blind tee shot on the 9th #3 par 4 holes which are 8th 317y, 12th 301y & 16th 385y #one three shot par 5 measuring 625 from the black #at least two holes with a centre line hazard, hole 4 & hole 9 centre line bunker. Also hole 10 the fairway is split in two by bunkers. #one par 3 under 125 yards measuring 121 yards off the black tee. #driveable par 4 is the 12th hole measuring 301 yards

Looks great Graeme, looking forward to giving it a go, the lighting looks moody, and I like it.

This looks awesome, the planting and waste bunkering is impressive and I like the lighting. Good stuff man.

Great course Graeme. Stunner environment and lighting. Would have liked a bit more undulation on some greens but a really good test for CC. Nice job!

This is fantastic. Loved the wider fairways and recovery options. Greens were tame on default but can see where they could be turned up for some different conditions. I’m sure I will be cursing you at some point when I see this again on tour. 😂

This is excellent. Loved the texture and the lighting. Waste bunkers great as well. Golf made me think. I would only echo that yeah the greens were quite easy.
Great work and good luck! Already questioning my own.

Top 5 course minimum here. Also, how did you get bioluminescent trees? There were all flashing blue and it is pretty trippy.
Update: Just finished my round, and if this doesn't win the contest you should demand a recount. I haven't played any other of the contest courses (other than my own entry of course) but I don't think I need to. A+ stuff all around.

Thanks a lot, tropical trees and elm trees seem to work well with low lighting. Haha there’s a few really good courses in the competition already.

Really loved the layout, lots of options off the tee depending on the wind and elevation. Great planting, waste bunkering, undulating fairways and some tricky greens. I had to contend with some scrambling from red slows during the round but managed to stay bogey free. A lovely subdued clubhouse and minimalist feel on course created a very calming environment with the late setting sun.
Good luck in the comp!

Loved the environment created and the moody lighting . The contrast in the textures worked well and the course was excellently routed also . I am a mid level CC-H player and therefore feel a reasonable middle of the road judge for playability and this was my only critique was that the greens were so easy that it took the strategy you created away . I never felt in trouble in the round and with that the CC-H and above would go lights out on this course if on tour . Design wise and all the things us designers crave to achieve you nailed mate for sure and i hope it does well in the contest . I suppose after Schwarzwald and the others i was expecting some more challenge . Just my opinion mate as i love your designs
