PS4 tournament help

Can anybody who plays on PS4 that may have been in the same situation as me help me out, or even if you haven't you may know?

My PS+ membership ran out a couple of days ago. Completely forgot about renewing it. I'm still able to play the game and able to play alongside the ghost rounds of anyone on my friends list (and anyone who has played a course also), not sure about playing live alongside anyone though as people on my list don't always be online at the same time as me.

I am just trying to find out whether or not my scores will show up on in game leaderboards of tournaments for verification after I submit them when doing a tournament as I might not be able to renew my PS+ membership for a couple of weeks, hoping to get it renewed tomorrow but it will be a couple of weeks if I can't.

I don't want to withdraw from the next 2 tournaments if I am still able to play as normal, but also don't want to carry on as normal and run the risk of losing my tour card etc by missing x amount of tournaments, submitting scores and possibly being disqualified if they can't be verified.

I tried a few other games out yesterday and definitely can't play them online at all, but can still (it seems anyway) play The Golf Club.

Anyone help would greatly appreciated.

Ok well I can confirm that I can still play live alongside somebody anyway. Just need to find out if I still show on in game leaderboards now. So might just fly through one of the other tgctours tournaments and see if anyone can see my score. Don't care if I shoot 100 over par...it's just to know if the score can be seen.

Just finished 4 rounds real quick on the PGA tournament and got someone to check it for me. Still showing on the leaderboards so hopefully things should be all good for next weeks tourney if I'm not able to renew my PS+ membership this week. Shot a half decent score as well for just doing them quickly, scores of 72, 65, 64, 64 giving me -23.

Also hit this nice shot off the pin on 17....missed the putt though

I'm happy for you that it seems you can still play the tournaments.

But from how I understand the PS+ membership, I wonder how this is possible...

That's what's puzzling me also because litteraly no other game (that I know of anyway) can be played online without it. Unless they came to some arrangement with Sony, and Microsoft if it the same for XB1.

Yes you can, but generally it's the free-to-play titles or those with a monthly sub.

Multiplayer on paid games is universally gated by PS+

I thought one of the key points of the way the Golf Club did it's multiplayer was so that it could be enjoyed *without* a ps + / xbox live membership?
