Dear Golfers;
I play on the Pro-Amateur level, and when I play an easy course, I score in between Even and 10 Over, when I play a hard course, or a course where it makes me play the next level up, like PGA Society, it's more like 20 to 30 Over, but those are about what I shoot in real life, so it's all good. However, for some bizarre reason, my handicap is about +100. I don't understand the handicap system very well, but as I understand it, a handicap of +2 would mean I should shoot 2 Under par, so +100 means I should shoot 100 under par? I really like playing against better players, and turning the handicapping system on , so it's a competitive match. However now, no matter who I play, I'm giving 3 strokes a HOLE! Not a side, but per hole. Obviously, that takes all the fun of it out. Is there anyway to reset my handicap to more accurately reflect my skill level? Does PGA 212k have a customer service feature I can call or email to ask about this?
Thanks, Edward

There are a few 'broken handicap' courses making the rounds right now - Northern Echo pushed my HDCP up by 60 strokes or so. Check for course ratings before you play, avoid any with 'slope' numbers lower than 10, and certainly any negative ones. In 20 rounds, the 'old rounds' will be purged from your hdcp calculations.
Apparently it can't be fixed, but at least you didn't end up with an 'infinity' hdcp, which someone else posted about

Bobaloo, ok, thanks for the info. Well, shoot,I love Northern Echo, or any Crazy Canuck course. Where do you find the course slope rating?
Thanks, Edward

It shows up in the pre round info screen. There'll be a number e.g. 71/45, the second one is the slope rating I believe.
In saying that, if the slope ratings were anywhere near realistic then we wouldn't have this issue with handicaps at all. The average in real golf is about 110 I think. My most common score is somewhere between even and -10, probably majority between -5 and -10 these days with the occasional better than that. But because of the slope ratings my handicap is something ridiculous like +25 or whatever it is. In reality it should be around +5.

Ok, thanks. My handicap has finally gotten down to the normal number, I've been playing only courses with ratings higher then about 30. I really like CrazyCanuck courses, disappointed that I can't play Northern Echoes without messing up my handicap. Is there another Crazy Canuck course that would have a higher slope, or course, or whatever it's called rating that I could play?
Thanks, Edward

I actually noticed mine the other day, it was at +87 or something ridiculous. I know strange things happen in golf but taking -15 actual shots in a round might be pushing it a bit 😂😂
