Back in 2006 and Tiger Woods designer by the nick of DanutGolf (I wish I could locate him) replicated the course into the game for me as a favor so when I started this journey into designing myself, I naturally was curious about this course and another one that I grew up playing on (teasers to come on it in a few days). I didn't know jack squat about this stuff but had some background from being in the graphics biz so I knew points and handles pretty well, I read everything I could and wore YouTube out. I saw where someone had started tracing the course in OSM. I checked both '19 and 2k21 and no one had published the course. Because I didn't want to step on anyone's toes I contacted the person through OSM that had done the edits and they had started it for '19 but never finished, they gave me permission to replicate it for 2k21 so I cleaned up the lines that they had done on OSM and did the LiDAR deal and got it to 2k21. I've done a ton of work on it then would read/watch something you all posted and after crying a little I re-did my work to make it better ... Thank you all for sharing the uber goodness with us noobers.
About Lido: It was named after the legendary Scottish golf course architect Alister MacKenzie's great grandson Lido. We all know about the Lido golf hole design trophy, if not go Google it. The new course is a Robert Trent Jones design, it's 6528 yards from the tips, has 10-15 average winds that for 5 months of the year come out of the south and has some tame appearing holes that can play a little tricky with the winds and nearby water. The signature hole in the par 5 island fairway 16th. Sadly the course has not been taken good care of lately from what I've read and photos that I researched ... This is my first or maybe second course and I hope you all will enjoy a round on it. No names but I read a post on here by someone saying that they knew about a course from the 1st hole, The 1st hole is pretty plain in my opinion so just hang in there when reviewed, the best is yet to come!
BTW: I HATE RETAINING WALLS, I'VE REDONE THEM TWICE!!!!!!! LOL
