Agreed about the breaking 8foot putt - but there are not many of those out there and even those go in with a high frequency. Sink percentages across the board are too high and this in effect makes the short game in particular feel easier. Also agree that the putting system is the best ever done in a golf game - both aim marker and power systems captures the essence of real putting. Maybe a bit too easy to hit it dead straight. Removing the grid brings down sink rates to more realistic levels - and I have found that effect to carry over to the short game feel as well. Suddenly it's not good enough to flop it it 7 feet as that leaves a knee-knocker - and being consistently within 4 feet (1grid more or less) is not that easy but requires spin control etc. Realistic putting percentages are frustrating in a video game of course so no grid play will likely remain a niche mode. To be honest mcbogga in real life its not that hard to hit a putt straight especially from short distances, watch tiger in his prime he would make nine out of ten putts from 8 foot that was the reason he was so good. It is much easier to hit a straight putt in real life than any other shot, maybe we should question why it is so easy to hit a driver so straight. I just can't knock the putting on this game because it is way better than any golf game I have played before. I have been playing golf games since Leaderboard on the C64 ?

Been playing golf for twenty years and holed some monster chips and putts but there is no way I could flop or pitch a ball to 2 feet from 20 to 30 yards. Irl you need green to work with, in this game just fly it all the way to the pin. Really would love it the devs would work on the ball physics, been waiting so long for the ultimate golf sim

Just looked like Tiger was sinking nine out of ten from 8 feet since he was the abosulte best clutch putter the world has ever seen and there is television bias where they only show the good shots or the leaders play. If you look at the stats you will see its just perception. Looing at real data - sink percentages for PGA tour from 8 feet between 2003-2012 was 50% with 0.6% probablility of a three jack. Luke Donald who was by far the best putter in the world around 2010 or so sunk a whopping 57% from 8 feet during that time. Also I didn't say straight, I said dead straight. As in hitting the right blade of grass at the cup from six feet. Agreed that it should be a bit more penalty for shortsiding yourself.
