Incredible dedication spent on this, and for a first published course to boot. Really enjoyed following along in the WIP and with the beta you published. Looking forward to seeing the finished product tonight, but judging by the thread alone I already know I will enjoy it. Glad you found the LIDAR tool and put a crazy amount of work into a course that deserves it. I've already sent it to the rangers to check it for tour play, and we will use whatever conditions you recommend over the 4 rounds. I'll let you know what the results are from our console players who are rangers to see if it sets their machines on fire or is playable for them. Does this mean you have dibs on this for Elite? If so let me know so I can throw my last two rounds to avoid promo marks.

Super excited to play this...but I think I can already hear my ol' PS4's fan revving up at the thought of handling it! oof yeah. i thought about dialing back the planting for all the console casuals out there. but... nah. if there are major issues though let me know. it'd be great to get this course on tour and if that means releasing a lighter version, so be it. No worries! Just played a round on my PS4, and there were no lag issues to speak of, save for a little stuttering around Hole 10. Great work!

I'll let you know what the results are from our console players who are rangers to see if it sets their machines on fire or is playable for them. it feels sappy as hell for me to say it, but honestly this makes me so happy to hear. this project took a lot of effort and time, particularly because i was learning so much new stuff as i went along and had to go back and re-do things several times. i knew it was in good shape before publishing, but i did not expect such a fast and positive response from everyone. and to get priority testing for tour play? i can't believe it. i'm sure as more folks have a chance to play it there will be some critiques and suggestions on things that could be done better.
here's hoping 2k22 gives us better fescue grasses, improved sculpting tools (mesh editing, anyone?) and pot bunkers. because this course still has a long way to go to get close to the real thing. imagine being able to do these bunkers justice:
(first bunker is on #6, behind the green on the right side, second is the strath bunker in front of #13)
i also peeped your bunkering and it was :chefs kiss: so sweet. they were leagues better than mine in the beta version. Lol, I made a first pass on them but I sent it to joegolferg and he started a pass of his own on them too, so you were probably gawking at the GOAT’s, not mine. should have some time at some point this week to give it the 'ol college try. i'll report back if there's anything worth reporting.
No worries! Just played a round on my PS4, and there were no lag issues to speak of, save for a little stuttering around Hole 10. Great work! this is great news! honestly i would have never guessed that the 9th/10th would be where stuttering would happen. this game's performance is a mystery that may never be solved.

Thank you. This is awesome. The sort of course I will keep coming back to as it's so much fun. P.S. So sorry I never got back to your PM - completely forgot. Agree with your take on 17 tee anyway

Hold on a minute. This is your FIRST COURSE?! Jeez... holy sh*t that's impressive. Cant wait for my round tomorrow I can't be bothered to change my long clubs so I'll probably just use a 248 3 wood and ditch the driver, will play from the red tees.

Agree with your take on 17 tee anyway this is so awesome to hear. and no worries about the PM! i know you've got a lot of stuff going on. if you have the time/energy, it would love to hear your thoughts about things that could be done better--i'm already starting to think about stuff i want to do better in the next iteration of this game (or even an alt version in this game with different pins)
kind of off topic, but i've really enjoyed your video series on template holes. so far i think you've already knocked out most of the templates that are on NGLA (with some admittedly excellent other examples), but by my last count it looks like you might still have a Redan video to do, eh? Hold on a minute. This is your FIRST COURSE?! Jeez... holy sh*t that's impressive. Cant wait for my round tomorrow I can't be bothered to change my long clubs so I'll probably just use a 248 3 wood and ditch the driver, will play from the red tees. it's better to think of it as the 4th or 5th version of this course. the early attempts shall never see the light of day.
and honestly, play it how you want to! i think it plays pretty well from the blacks. but if you're doing only 3-wood with 248 carry, then playing the green/blue tees would be a heck of a lot of fun, as the course was probably laid out with the assumption that most golfers would be teeing it up from the middle tees. but the reds would definitely be more of a challenge. so again, play it whatever way you want! except for wind. i will insist that the wind be set on high or very high (i still cannot believe that the game devs did not allow us to set a default wind speed).

Mainly gutted I can't use the Bottle. By a mile my favourite on this course and the way that false front works is an idea I will certainly be stealing. I've got a while before I can get back to recording, but will be delighted to use some from here if you'd be happy!

This was incredible. Played red tees and made myself use no club more than 3 wood. So much fun to play and those greens are perfect. LOVED the Road bunker on 7. Superb job - thank you

Exceptional rendition, I pulled it up on Google Earth to give me an idea of the routing and it looked spot on.

This course was an absolute treat. The designer put in so much work to bring this to life. This is “appointment golf”. I took the recommendation and clubbed down to a 270 yd driver. Thanks for your efforts!

Wow wow wow. I have had the pleasure of having played this course 3x IRL and you have done an incredible job of replicating it. I will have many repeat plays. The road hole bunker was so well shaped I had to hit it in just to make sure. Also, I am eagerly awaiting your Shinnecock- you've already got a few holes done!
