Hey all, I’m considering starting a PlayStation Society again and wanted to see if there would be interest in the format I have in mind. The format is simple - normal TGCTours rules apply. But it will be legend swing with tempo off. Wind mph will be hidden. It would be one 2 round event every 2 days, Mon - Thurs and one 2 round event over the weekends. Recent immunotherapy has caused quite a bit of inflammation issues in my shooting hand. This has made tempo really difficult for me at times where I’ve been getting more frustrated than necessary for a video game. But I still love playing this game and all of the wonderful people and courses. I still want to be able to have some fun w/o the anger  Let me know if there’s interest and I’ll get it going this weekend. If it starts with 4 or 5 that’s fine. Hopefully grow from there. |

We go back aways to the old Seniors Tour that I ran with some help from friends on the PC and X-box side of things.
I voted that maybe I would be interested. I tried getting my own society off the ground with a no tempo format without much success.
I make the following observations having dabbled in this field for the past month and participating in several societies that I found by searching "no tempo" in Society mode.
Personally I dislike the use of Legend difficulty. For me it makes the putting stroke much different to what I'm used to and I'm not prepared to 'learn' a new putting stroke.
I've found that using Pro or even Pro-Am difficulty makes for a much better experience. Yes, you can pretty much drive the ball 300+ where you want it to go, but then it's down to distance control, putting and managing the conditions. Stress free because you're not at the mercy of tempo roulette and forever digging the ball out of the rough or bunkers.
My preference is not to play Legend difficulty but you will do as you see fit. I just wanted to explain my experiences with this format.

I’ve dabbled with this format in my career mode setup and found it to be less frustrating with tempo gone but also still challenging because of the putting difficulty. The old saying drive for show, putt for dough was never more true lol. The legend putting comes down to really getting that club face straight (12/6 stick swing) on contact. I haven’t found much difference as far as pace/distance estimations with putt velocity and green speeds. I don’t want to ease up the game completely. If I’m going to take away one difficulty, I want to add another. Legend putting makes sense to me since it is also the most difficult thing in IRL for many of us. I was also contemplating taking away the green grids but eventually decided against it. |

All depends if you are just doing it as fun society or tables.
Only reason I state the two options above is that I dont tend to play much as game does my head in a bit . If it's not causing you an issue by missing the odd event then fine but if its organised as in tables then I dont want to upset things.

I’m hoping that great courses will keep it active. I’ll probably use a lot of RCRs and lidars |

It will be a one day 2 rounder then to the regular schedule I outlined above starting Monday. I’ll create a new thread with the society name LOTO Club (Legend On Timing Off) once I’ve done that. |
