hey all Spent the last 5 weeks on my latest course ,, Headlands of Hoy,, The remit for the course was for a Highland Island links . One thing I had to decide was the crowds , three ways to go ,None , Tee box stands & hidden cameras & full stadia style , to try to maintain the open rough & rugged look of a Highland Island course I went for the second option of Tee box stands & hidden cameras on fairways & greens , this turned out to be alot of fun & a grate look for the course I tried to incorporate a risk reward factor into most holes , but with ample safe lines to take , no one hole will put you in a risk position without a safe alternative take. So the 3w could be your friend here taking the safe line to victory or be a maverick & take the risks to win ! Here is a full course fly-by all 18 holes named . GL & HF ... Cello

A lovely course, well laid out and obviously a lot of loving detail and attention been put into it. However, having been to the Orkney Islands many times, I can tell you that this is nothing like Hoy. It is much too green for one thing. It might have been nice to have used something like the Churchill Causeways to link some of the islands, and the famous Old Man of Hoy is missing. This might sound petty, but when I read the name I had the thought that someone might have at last done a course situated in the area where I grew up. Sadly, I was mistaken again. Looks like I will have to try to do some myself.
