I've left the dumpster fire old WIP thread to die so I can start a new one. The course will probably be bunkerless, it will definitely have a very open feel and this means I've whittled it down to two options. OPTION 1: Links course, somewhere on Ireland's west coast. Land movement and towering dunes will be bunker replacements here. The wilder option of the two, but probably the more realistic one. OPTION 2: Mountain resort course with a cleaner look and a grass bunker scheme. Will have a hillier plot and micro-sculpting will be a major focus - greens in particular. In terms of required elements, bunkerless satisfies two of them (Two bunkerless holes and the Augusta bunker challenge), but I want to only pick one as it's kind of cheating in a weird way doing both unless I was actually including sand bunkers. So, my plans for possible required elements are as follows: Two holes with no bunkers or Augusta bunker challenge, plus these as good options: -blind tee shot -par three under 125 yards -driveable par four -total course yardage under 6900 yards -three sub 400 yard par fours -four greens within 200 yards -two holes with a centreline hazard (most likely either a mound or a grass bunker) -double green (1 hole, 2 greens, 2 pins per green) -entire course within a 1000000 yard area (more likely on the mountain course than the links) Haven't started plots for either, but I'll play around with some ideas and see how it goes. Looking to bring some heat to group C!

So, after starting plots and tinkering with some ideas, the Irish dunes plot won over. I have a plan for the required elements I want - and an update on the bunkerless situation. Required elements planned: -three sub-400 yard par fours -blind tee shot -course yardage under 6900 -Augusta bunker challenge Originally, this Irish links wasn't gonna have any bunkers, but I'm thinking about putting a few rugged in-play bunkers on some holes and make them look unkempt. I'll almost certainly have some bunkerless holes, which should help keep the bunker count at 22 maximum. Also experimenting with a wide first cut in a similar way to Ballymulderry ( gamesdecent) or Bragg Highlands ( PithyDoctorG) as there is gonna be camber and slightly tighter fairways thru the dunes than I'm used to. It's gonna get wild... pictures in a few days when I make a better start.

UPDATE #2 Two plots started, an Irish links which I'm not feeling at the moment and something very different... I've been thinking about doing the mountain foothills resort course with a bit of Nonotempo inspiration. Started a plot and loved it. Course yardage will be no more than 6800, par is 72 (5-8-5) and there will be no par threes over 180 yards. Oh, and there will be a custom clubhouse. LFG!!!

Doing some work on that today. Just enjoying having two solid ideas tbh

ヒロノに触発された 丘陵地帯 グラウンドゲーム Q might be pleased by this idea So here's some tips! 広野 is the Kanji for Hirono, the individual kanji mean 広(Wide) 野(Field) ヒロノ is Katakana which is only used for foreign words and just phonetically sounds them out ヒ-Hi ロ-Ro ノ-No された - is the past tense indicative so the first sentence should be 広野(hirono) に(by/in) 触発(inspiration) された(Past-tense to be) 広野に 触発された - (I was)inspired by Hirono 私は - is the missing (I was) but isn't needed as in sentences lacking it implies you're talking about yourself! 丘陵地帯 can be broken down into 丘陵 - Hills 地帯(Area) , Im guessing foothills? The last line is Katakana which hilariously just sounds out Gu-Ra-U-N-Do Ga-E-Mu グラウンド - GuRaUNDo is typical used to describe Ground as in Ground Meat or coffee (Not earth/dirt but to grind something), You are looking for 地面 (Kanji for "Ground" and "Feature") ゲーム - GaEMu - is the correct katakana for a game, so that one is fine lol so last line should be 地面 (the ground) の (belongs to) ゲーム (game) 地面のゲーム - The Ground's Game (Or Ground Game) So how you should write it all is this: 広野に 触発された 丘陵地帯 地面のゲーム Phonetically it sounds like this: Hirono ni Show-kuhatsu Sa Reta Key-you ree-oh Chee-Thai Ji-Men No Gae-Mu There's your Japanese lesson of the day

Which course idea did you decide to build? I definitely think that going with grass bunkers will play to your advantage because you first design league course had some awesome grass bunkers! I’m kinda interested to see what you’ve come up with and both of your course ideas are pretty different from bosduinen. Anyway, just wanted to check in and see how your course is coming along. 😀
