So I'm in the process sketching out my course that will essentially be my sister course to The Sentinel. They won't be on the same plot sadly as I hadn't anticipated ever doing a second course.

The overall aim of this project will be to fuse some of the concepts from The Cassique Course @ Kiawah Island and the Congaree Club, both located in SC. I originally didn't want to venture too near to Kiawah Island, especially with the difficulty of the course and its recent showcasing at the USPGA, but came across the Cassique Course by Tom Watson who wanted to pay homage to his successes at The Open Championship, which peaked my interest big time.

Hoping to be able to design a great course that somewhat replicates the environment at The Sentinel, albeit not as undulating while also providing a fair challenge for everyone.

Still haven't opened up the designer to begin working on this, but have been putting pencil to paper a lot and have 16 holes sketched and routed, so will be getting started on this pretty soon.

While this wasn't my first idea for the contest, I still plan on sticking to the parameters set in the other idea and will select my best ones for judging when the deadline is a little closer

- Drivable Par 4
- Par 3 over than 230 yards
- Par 3 shorter then 125 yards
- 2 holes with zero bunkers
- One blind tee shot
- 3 par 4s under 400 yards
- 3 shot par 5
- 5 par 3's
- Total yardage under 6900
- 2 holes with a centre line hazard

So have made a start on bringing my sketches over to the game. Nothing much to see here, playing around with a few sculpting ideas, nothing concrete as of yet, these are just some screenshots of sightlines.

The hole itself is a 380 yard par 4, wide fairway in the landing zone. Not sure about the bunker setup down the left, unsure of whether I want the rough to come in fully there or to keep fairway flowing down the left and have a small section of rough with the 3 bunkers in the fairway.

3 holes into my rough sculpt and plant and fairly happy with what I've got going on so far. Course is currently measuring 931 yards off the tips with no holes 400 yards or longer. I also have one fairway, where at its widest point is nearly 280 yards wide. The plan is to get the course completed for 6850 yards and par 72, however if I can't manage it, I'll drop for the par 71. I have one hole ready if I need to drop the par.

Ya there seems to be a few links courses coming through the contest so far, just have to try and stand out a bit more 😎😎

Finally settled on a style for my sculpting and my bunkers. Here's a look at 5 different shots of the first hole and then a look from behind the 2nd hole towards the green with the 3rd fairway in the background.

You definitely have a unique look and feel going but it’s really cool. I’ll be interested to see how it all comes together in fantastic form.

So after a little two week break, back into the designer and moving along nicely. Messing around with my 4th & 5th hole at the moment. Fusing a couple of concepts together, there is definitely going to be a linksy vibe, but pulling in that kind of coastal South Carolina feel to it. Still a bit away for sure, but front 9 is beginning to take real shape.
