Considering that THREE teams have now been no-hit TWICE this season, I think it says more about how bad some of these offenses are.

At some point they will be moving the pitcher’s mound back or make the ball a little bigger.
Bigger, stronger athletes are making for too many high 90’s/ 100mph pitchers.
And if they continue to plunk batters in the face it’s going to happen quick, like next season.

As a casual Mariners fan I'd say no it hasn't been that great although as a Mariners fan saying that about a season isn't all that uncommon.

I hate it... I had a chance to go see my Phillies play nearby vs The Blue Jays last week... but with 13,14,13 strikeout performances the days before- i opted out- saved myself the hour drive and watched on TV. Sure enough they struck out 14 times- but I had already turned off in disgust in the 5th inning. and outside of a weak CF, the Phils offensive lineup is pretty stout.
Tim Kurkjian had a great article in ESPN this week on why the strikeout is killing baseball. I've seen games go into the 4th inning without a ball being put in play... I've seen the Phils score their only 2 runs in a WIN on a strikeout/wild pitch. There are so many reasons I hate baseball right now- most better summed up by Kurkjian... and with all the strikeouts- not only are balls not being put in play- the games are dragging on longer. 4 hours for a game with 6 hits? no thank you!

No one is mentioning how pitchers are doctoring the baseball and basically getting away with it? Pitchers are doctoring the baseball and MLB is doing little about it. Spin rates for pitchers have jumped and the obvious conclusion is a shady baseball.
Add in the launch angle metrics that has taken over over the last 5-10 years or so that hitters now take and are okay with a strikeout combined with the opportunity to hit a HR. You get plummeting base hit rates with increasing K rates. This is a perfect storm of how to get No-hitters. MLB batting averages have not been this low in a long, long time (1968).
(The below article is from 05/21/2021.. within 24 hours of this post, so not some long ago past rant)
The comments and career path of Trevor Bauer should be noted as well. He was a critic in 2019, but since has adopted to the current MLB meta since MLB itself doesn't really seem to care and look at how he personally has flourished along with other pitchers like Gerrit Cole and many others...
