For the past couple days I have been frequently encountering the error listed above.
I have tried switching between an Ethernet and wireless connection multiple times, but each time has resulted in the same error message. I have even tried resetting my router
I have also tried running the internet connection through my phone, but unfortunately my Xbox wouldn't recognize my phone as suitable source.
I'm able to play other games online perfectly fine.
I have encountered this error in the past before and have just come back an hour or two later to see that it's resolved itself. This time has been different.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix to the issue, I want to be able to get my rounds played before my groups deadlines.
Also, if it's any help. I'm living in Vietnam, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with being connected to a specific server, or not....

Update: I'm able to play Divot Derby and matchmaking without problem, but I still cannot access career mode or societies.

I am having the exact same issue. I can get through an online society round but it takes about 45-60 minutes to complete. The load times between holes is very long, and error 1702 constantly pops up.
All other games I play online works fine. I also tried switching multiple times between wireless and LAN and it has not worked.
I hard rebooted PS and router. Still taking forever to load.

The issue has become less frequent for me, but still is prevalent.
I'm not having trouble once I get into the actual rounds themselves, and if I can get into a society round, I can play all rounds in one sitting without trouble.
There will be times though, where they game is just lagging while loading the game modes, and I won't be able to load the rounds for career mode, local match, society, etc...
I talked with someone from 2k and they just told me it's my connection.I doubt that. (I have a 5G connection)

Yeah, it’s def not my connection. I tested it multiple times and can play every other game. All other devices connected work fine, including zoom calls which do not lose connection.
This has been happening since Tuesday. And only happens with online society rounds.

Yep, same here with other online games. All others work fine without fail...and I have no trouble with Zoom.
The only other thing I can think of is reinstalling the game.... It didn't work for me, but may work for you?

As an update, after about a week is started working again. I switched several times between LAN and WiFi and eventually it started working.
