Hello everyone,
I have just released a beta version of my U.S. Open Contest entry. Only nine holes have been done so far, so I hope I have enough time to finish it before the deadline! The name is USOC Beta - Adirondack.
A couple of things that I would like some feedback on:
1. Does the course flow from hole to hole, or does the course feel like it is two different courses? 2. Are the firm and fast conditions tough yet fair? 3. Does the course feel like it is a U.S. Open course?
Thank you, and remember that all feedback is accepted and greatly encouraged!
(If you see any large boulders scattered around the course, it is to keep the routing that I had originally laid out)

Hey Karma,
It would also be fantastic if you could post some photos because I don't have the ability to do so.

I love the layout good looking holes and it was tough. The firmness seemed really high but hey it is US open. The front was 3300 something yard so I imagine the back side is really long. There was a mud hole left front of 9 green and you could connect that to the pond. Really good job on this layout.

The back nine is I think 3800 yards and it will have some extremely tough holes. Unfortunately, having played the course myself, I did realize that it was too firm for my liking and I will certainly fix it when it comes time for the real publish.

Just had a round and gotta say I'm a big fan. I think the elevation changes might be borderline unrealistic for a US Open track but other than that mate it's superb. The routing seems to flow although I didn't notice to many other holes in surrounding views so might have to revisit the course to see it again as being able to see surrounding holes IMO makes it feel like one plot. The pins were all fine and the green contours were very fair. I had 3 birdies and 3 bogeys for even par I think. Might have been 2 & 2 tho. Your hole designs were great to with a real focus on your driving, would like maybe more challenge in regards to approach shots tho as most were pretty straightforward with no real need to work the ball left or right on most approaches.... Loved your bunkering too, and the planting and environment very natural looking. Looking forward to the back 9. Well done!!

I see what you are saying about not being able to see other holes thing. The back nine's routing is closer together so hopefully you can see more holes. Do you think that the course was a bit TOO firm and fast?

Definately not for a US Open. Even for a tough regular tour event stop it would be reasonable in my view. I only had one query on not being able to stop on the green on the first par 3 I think. 227yds down hill with the runoff behind and bunker short and to the right (sorry forget the hole number but hopefully you'll know the one I mean), I had a headwind of 12mph and I still couldn't hold the green as I pitched right on the front of green also and still ended up over back.... Maybe look at changing the green shape or shortening the hole to accommodate balls holding the green
